According to Chief of Patrol Joseph Kenny, cops are looking for 39-year-old Kashaan Parks, who police believe used a belt to choke out at a 45-year-old woman on 152nd Street and 3rd Avenue before dragging her between two parked cars on May 1st and raping her.

Police have identified the man wanted for a brutal rape in the Bronx, where the suspect is seen wrapping a belt around the victim’s neck and dragging her down the street before engaging in a disturbing sexual act.

According to Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, cops are looking for 39-year-old Kashaan Parks, who police believe used a belt to choke out a 45-year-old woman on 152nd Street and 3rd Avenue before dragging her between two parked cars on May 1 and raping her. With the suspect identified, cops believe an arrest will be imminent.

Video footage of the incident, which was caught by a security camera, has gone viral online in recent days. However, cops say they were not immediately aware of the incident since the victim did not report the shocking sex attack.

It wasn’t until the woman was arrested for petty larceny that cops learned of the incident.

However, once detectives asked her about the attack, she fully cooperated and managed to identify the attacker due to distinctive gaps in his teeth.

“Our victim indicated that she had seen him before; she actually described his teeth to us; he had unusual teeth,” Chief Kenny explained. “She said he has space between his teeth.”

Police say they believe the vicious assault stemmed from a conversation the pair had earlier in the night, which involved a promise of money for sex. Yet when the alleged agreement did not come to fruition, Parks allegedly leaped into a rage and slung the belt around the victim’s neck and raped her.

The incident has spawned widespread condemnation from viewers across the internet, including elected officials who have denounced the attack.

SIOUX FALLS — A Sioux Falls man is behind bars after police say engaged in sexual contact with a runaway child on the city’s east side.

Cornell Jones, 20, of Sioux Falls, was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree rape, solicitation of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. South Dakota law defines fourth-degree rape as the rape of a victim between 13 and 16 years old with a perpetrator at least three years older than the victim.

The charges stem from shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, when police say it was discovered that Jones was sheltering a 15-year-old girl who had run away from home at a motel room in the 2600 block of East 10th Street.

According to police spokesman Sam Clemens, authorities first began searching for the girl after receiving a report that she had left home. While the search was underway, Clemens said authorities were informed that Jones had been messaging the girl on Instagram.

“They had a conversation, there were a lot of different things that were said, and at one point he arranged to have her picked up and brought to that motel room,” Clemens said.

The girl had stayed with Jones in the motel room for one or two days, Clemens estimated, adding that investigators learned there had been sexual contact between the two. Clemens said the two did not know each other before they began messaging on Instagram.

Jones was taken into custody and lodged in the Minnehaha County Jail, where records indicate he’s being held without bond. He’s expected to appear in a Minnehaha County courtroom Thursday afternoon.

Fourth-degree rape, the most serious charge lodged against Jones, carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and fines of up to $30,000.
