I was referring to applications and updates to them, not to Windows updates.

That wasn't clear to anyone. As much of an improvement as the updating
system is in Windows 11 (the result of the updates being smaller), it's
still fairly poor compared to Linux. I content myself in the knowledge
that it's better than 10 and that I get a new installation whenever
there's a big one.
