The puppeteers behind the scenes (a.k.a. the Deep State, or the Rothschilds)
like breaking up bigger countries into smaller, more easily controlled ones.
They desperately want to do this to Russia. They even supported the South in
the Civil War for this reason. They've been at this world domination crap
for a long, long time. Americans used to be AGAINST empires. Unfortunately
there are now a lot of neo-CONS who are for it these days. "Our" MSM is
always pushing for war and the gullible fall for it. If we survive the
collapse of our empire, maybe we can worry about a government for Americans
again, instead of pandering to the Deep State and their obsession for
obtaining world control.

Unfortunately there is a long history of mistrust between these two
countries. But Putin has already hinted that he wouldn't object to the Poles
taking back their traditional chunk of Ukraine.

They're bought and paid for by the corrupt war mongering arms industry. (And
by Big Pharma, and by the Big Banks, and by the insurance industry, and Wall
Street.) They'll sell themselves out to anyone who has money. The definition
of an "honest politician," is one that, once he sells himself out, stays
sold.

I'm sure that Poles themselves saw a lot of themselves in Putin if they
watched his interview with Carlson. They might not have the same goals
or history as he does, but his mannerisms were no different than the
ones I got accustomed to growing up with my Polish relatives.

So what? You do what you want. I believe you do it more efficiently than
him. But even if you don't, you do what you want, I don't care. I
comment his way because he says it's the best when it's the worst. And
that gives arguments to Linux haters.

Yes, that's exactly my point. He doesn't know how to use/configure his
WM and is very inefficient.

Yep. Exactly my point. There are a lot of ways to be efficient with
Linux. Some ways feel more comfortable for some people, others prefer
different ways. Everything is fine, anyone should find its way. Except
FR/DG/LP/NV/whatever who looks like he's discovering his WM each time he
needs to do something.

The issue is more likely between the chair and the keyboard/mouse.

Exactly, at the beginning, you were inefficient because first you had to
be able to do it. And then you learn how to improve your way. And
FR/DG/LP/NV/whatever never managed to pass the discovery point even when
he claims he's the master of his own distro.

> I'd recommend rofi for a simple launcher.

Yep, dmenu is good too. But rofi is for X11, so I use wofi for wayland.

You do what you want, I'm not telling you to change anything. I'm
telling you only what I'm doing. And in fact, if you want to know, I can
use the terminal to launch a graphical application if I'm already using
it. For example, I'm in a directory and see a pdf or an image which I
don't remember, I can open it directly with zathura or feh from the
terminal. Or when I download something, like his video, I have an alias
"md" which opens the most recent video in mpv. When I'm done, I have
another alias "rd" to delete it. It's fast and easy.

> Guake (which I use for full screen stuff) is Shift-Control-N.

In fact, I was never a fan of it. It's as easy to open a new terminal
with [Windows]+[ENTER] and to close is with [CTRL]+[D] that I never feel
the use to configure a falling terminal.

> I'll take a look at wofi, but what I've got works well for me. And it looks

If you want to use wofi/dmenu/rofi to open the results of script, it
will take some time but nothing impressive.
But if you want just to launch a GUI application, there is nothing to
learn. You launch it, start writing the name of your application and
select it to open it. It works right out of the box.

> Taking a closer look at your "binding" (if that's the correct term) it looks

There is a moment I need to chose the file I want to open, it's not
magical. But I don't chose the name inside zathura, when zathura opens,
it's already loaded. The list of my pdf names are displayed in wofi, so
I use wofi to select the one I want (with a few letters to restrict the
selection and with the arrow when it's close).

> similar with my Emacs script when I want to write a file in Fountain format.

Yes, it looks similar.

I don't often rely on mere insults because I find them boring. And it's
a difference between English movies and American movies. In American
movies, the insults are all fuck[ing]-something or something-fucked. And
very limited. In English movies, they can be more interesting.

In Matrix, when Christophe Lambert starts swearing in French, it's
funny.

Why do you believe that? I know what's a tabernacle and a calice and
their meaning in French Canada. The Canada is far away but there are
some exchanges between the countries. Some popular band/singer in Canada
have been well known in France. I'm not speaking only of Céline Fion.
But Les cowboys fringants, Le vilain pingouin or Félix Leclerc, are only
a few of them.

Christopher Lambert's insults in the Matrix are something I can't wait
for my students to see. They're watching the Matrix Reloaded in class,
and we haven't gotten to that part yet. Since they're a group whose
interests are in engineering and science, I figured they'd get a kick
out of the complexity of the second Matrix movie. That part in
particular will be a treat.

Les Cowboys Fringants were huge here, but I can't say that I've ever
even heard one of their songs. When the lead singer died, the media
treated it like the death of an important politician. One of your big
stars in France in the 1990s and 2000s, Mylène Farmer, was actually born
a few blocks from where I lived as a teenager.

Would the average person on the streets of Paris? In high school the
French teachers' brand of Parisian French differed quite a bit from what
some of the kids spoke at home. Quebec pretty much went its own way in the
18th century.

It's not only French I was buying pastries in Canada and a woman, probably
in her '50s, in the checkout line said "Those are bloody good!". Then she
blushed, covered her mouth, and apologized. Apparently 'bloody' meant more
to her than some obscure term from BBC dramas.

Spanish? I worked with a native Spanish speaker from Columbia. When we
were dealing with a client in Puerto Rico she would set in on the
teleconferences to translate the side conversations the PRs were having
with themselves. It worked to some extent until their discussions got fast
and heated.

Years ago I saw 'Sexy Beast' in a theater. About all of the dialog I could
follow was Ben Kingsley saying 'fuck' repeatedly and with feeling. 'The
Navigators' came with subtitles on the DVD thankfully. Ken Loach prided
himself in a dialog only comprehensible to a Yorkie.

I'll say this much. Even though I speak excellent French and can pass as
a "de souche" Quebecer, I can't watch a few movies from France without
subtitles. Taxi 4 is an excellent example of that.

I truly regret not having slept with a Spanish woman.

Of course you do, as a Catholic dupe, even though they falsely say it's a
sin, they make it trivially easy to be forgiven! Not like you're a

PBS must have run out of British programs to poach so now there is a
French crime drama on late Saturday night. It does have subtitles but I
turn it off.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Pines

I enjoyed the series although it was mostly English iirc. My grandmother
could speak French but none of that got passed down.

I never had the opportunity but I have no regrets either.

A few opportunities, but I never took them because I tend to be way too
honest in relationships. If I'm already with someone, even if the other
person is loads better, I stick around.

You're so proud of being a repressed homosexual who sticks with your woman,
even as you admit you thought others were "better", but you attack me for
loving who I love. This is your brain on Catholicism.

Well, I personally don't like wayland that much, but good luck!

Of course. More than 30 years ago, the VRP sang tabernacle:

They couldn't have done it if wasn't well known in France.

It's not because we don't use the same words we don't know them. The
accent are very different and it can be very difficult for a French guy
to understand a Quebec movie. The writings are easy to understand.

So she was used to some words but knew their meanings in different
country, which is what I'm saying.

I was only speaking about the French language in Quebec and France. I
don't speak Spanish (I learned a few words some years ago) And I have no
clue how it's used in other countries.

I'm not that surprised. The accents are different, it's not the all
thing.

Once, in Paris, I was with an Irish woman. When a friend of her spoke to
her, she explained to me after that, she had to speak very slowly with
her. Her friend was a Scottish girl ad their accents were so different
they had issues understanding each others. It doesn't mean they didn't
speak both English. It's the same with French and Quebec people. They
know the differences between the languages and have difficulties in
speaking but in writing it's easy.

> Taxi 4 is an excellent example of that.

I'm not sure I saw this one. The first was a great movie, the others
were only follow-up.

If you are not sure about it, it's because you never read his messages.
Which is not a big loss. It's only a lack of fun and you do what you
want.

It's exactly the point of my messages. I don't tell you what you should
do. Either you discover something new and you like it, or you don't like
it and keep as you did before. I don't care: I just provide information,
you do what you want with it.
