Chicago Police are on the hunt for five or six men who live streamed on Facebook the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl to an audience of at least 40 people — none of whom said a word to law enforcement, authorities said Tuesday.

And cops were only tipped off about the girl — who went missing on Sunday — after her mother approached Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson in person as he was leaving a police station in the Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side late Monday afternoon, said police spokesman Officer Michele Tannehill.

The mother showed him screenshots of her daughter’s assault on Facebook Live and Johnson quickly dispatched investigators, who got Facebook to remove the video.

Police found the girl early Tuesday after "working around the clock," tweeted police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Gugliemi said police are "making good progress identifying persons of interest" but haven't named any suspects yet.

The young victim is in stable condition at an area hospital and has been reunited with her family, police said.

"For you to do something like that and then post it up on Facebook like it’s a joke…its just terrible," the girl’s mother told NBC News affiliate WMAQ.

This is at least the second time this year that Chicago Police have had to investigate despicable attacks that were callously live streamed on Facebook.

In January, four Chicago-area young men and women were arrested after a shocking Facebook Live video showing the beating and torturing of a bound and gagged man with mental health challenges.

Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson called that video a "brutal act"that was "broadcast for the entire world to see."

The suspects in that case have been charged with kidnapping, assault and hate crimes.

One of the "bystanders" who called 911 after finding Lee's body was determined to have actually been in the park during the assault, the complaint said, walking with several subjects, including Lewis and Spencer. When confronted with that information, prosecutors said the witness gave a "detailed statement" to indicate Lewis and Spencer beat Lee and forced her to perform sex acts. The witness said video was later viewed on Lewis's phone showing Lewis and Spencer hitting her as she lay on the ground.

The second person who found the body said he witnessed Lewis "hitting (Lee) with tree branches and punching her in the face" while Spencer also beat the victim.

After the beating, he said, "Spencer told Kamare to put her in the water and Kamare was dragging her to the water."

This witness said he received video of the incident recorded by Lewis through Facebook Messenger and later deleted it from his phone.

On Jan. 12, months after the crime, detectives got a call from the mother of this witness, who indicated she "may have a video they would be interested in seeing in his old iPhone," sent to her son via Facebook Messenger by Lewis, but later deleted. She said the video showed "two boys beating a lady," and "you could tell who they were," noting "a lot of other little kids standing around." She said they received the video about two days after the incident, and she told her son to "get rid of the video because it doesn't have anything to do with him," adding that he should "stay away from Kamare Lewis."

A witness whose DNA was found on a bottle at the scene told investigators he walked to the park with Lewis and Spencer and "they saw this lady on a blanket in the park..." and "walked up to her to see if she had any money, and started harassing her." He said Lewis and Spencer began hitting and kicking her, dragging her to the area where the assault happened. He said he "didn't want to be involved and started walking away" when he was struck by a juice bottle thrown by one of the defendants.

Prosecutors said Spencer confessed to this witness that he and Lewis beat and raped Lee.

Lewis "tried to downplay his role in the incident," telling investigators that Spencer and "others" did most of the beating, according to the complaint.

He even added, "incredibly," the complaint notes, that Lee "volunteered to have...sex with the defendant and others present" but other people came around and the group started beating her -- despite the video evidence noted by prosecutors.

The complaint said Lewis suggested Spencer "was the most aggressive" and that he beat Lee "more brutally" as more people gathered.

In all, prosecutors say Lewis admitted to beating Lee, sexually assaulting Lee, leaving Lee for dead near the pond and not calling for help, noting that he thought Lee was dead and "didn't really care about her because she's not someone he knows personally."

DNA from Lewis and Spencer were found on Lee's denim jacket and on her body, the complaint noted.

FOX6 News talked with Lee's sister, Nancy, in January when a search warrant was released detailing the attack, as she struggled to understand what happened and why.

"It hurts so bad, you know?" said Nancy Lee. "It really hurts me. I just want justice for her. That’s all I want. She don't deserve to die that way."

(ABC 6 News) – Mower County issued a warrant for an Austin man accused of raping and impregnating a teenager.

Luis Fernando Aguilar Demetrio, 24, faces new charges of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct–penetration, victim under 18, victim impaired/helpless and 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct–penetration, victim under 18, use of force.

Aguilar Demetrio faces previous Mower County charges related to the sexual assault of a child under age 10.

According to Aguilar Demetrio’s new court documents, Austin police learned of another possible sexual assault while investigating the case involving the child under age 10, which may have involved the rape and impregnation of a teenager.

In April of 2024, police spoke to a teenager who had given birth to a child at 15 years old, after being raped at a party in late 2021 or early 2022.

Investigators obtained DNA samples from the teenager, child, and Aguilar Demetrio which indicated that Aguilar Demetrio could not be ruled out as being the child’s father.

According to court documents, the test could have ruled out 99.999991% of the population.

Although Aguilar Demetrio told police he did not know the teenager’s age and denied sexual contact with her, police found a report from a 2021 incident wherein the teenage and Aguilar Demetrio had been found in a park after hours.

The reporting officer allegedly asked Aguilar Demetrio at least three times what he was doing with a then-14-year-old and told him it “wasn’t a good idea.”

Aguilar Demetrio failed to appear in Mower County Court Monday, Aug. 5, and is currently wanted by local law enforcement.

Singer and producer The-Dream has been accused of rape and sexual battery in a lawsuit filed by his former protégée.

Chanaaz Mangroe, 33, who performed under the name Channii Monroe, filed the lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleging that the hitmaker lured her into an abusive and sexually violent relationship while promising to help launch her career as an artist.

The-Dream’s behavior, which allegedly went on for about a year after meeting him in 2015, still affects Mangroe and has hindered her attempts at having a career, the suit says.

“Choosing to speak out about the trauma I survived has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life, but ultimately, what Dream did to me made it impossible to live the life I envisioned for myself and pursue my goals as a singer and songwriter,” she said in a statement via her attorneys, Douglas H. Wigdor and Meredith Firetog.

“Ultimately, my silence has become too painful, and I realized that I need to tell my story to heal,” she continued. “I hope that doing so will also help others and prevent future horrific abuse.”

An agent for The-Dream, whose real name is Terius Adamu Ya Gesteelde-Diamant, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.

Mangroe said in the suit that at the time she met The-Dream, a top producer for Beyoncé, Rihanna and other artists, she was 23 and working in the U.S. on an international visa from the Netherlands.

It alleges that an associate of The-Dream reached out to her via social media, and after sending them samples of her work, she was invited to join the producer in Atlanta. She flew out to meet him in January 2015, according to the lawsuit.

Mangroe was “hoping to land her big break as a singer and songwriter,” the suit says, but instead, she was lured “into an abusive, violent, and manipulative relationship filled with physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and horrific psychological manipulation.”

It alleges that The-Dream made false promises to Mangroe, telling her that he would sponsor the extension of her international visa and would make hit songs for her if she became a part of his “sanctuary,” which he described as something “stronger than a spousal connection because it was about ‘art.’”

“In reality, Dream used Ms. Mangroe for his base desires, which manifested in violent sexual acts and vicious psychological torture,” the document alleges.

During one incident cited in the suit, the producer allegedly locked Mangroe in a dark room while they were at a recording studio and “violently” had sex with her before leaving her alone for hours. He later returned “to again have sex with her and demand that she tell him she loved him,” according to the suit.

Mangroe, still hopeful for her big break, tried to convince herself that the sex was consensual, the lawsuit says.

The-Dream also controlled Mangroe’s stay in the U.S., tracking her location, calling and texting to find out where she was, and keeping a key to her hotel room “so that he could enter whenever he pleased with no notice,” the lawsuit alleges.

It goes on to say that the producer forced her to drink excessive amounts of alcohol, recorded a sexual encounter and threatened to share it with others, and physically abused her. During one incident, he allegedly choked her to the point that “she believes she might have lost consciousness at one point,” it says.

While at a movie theater, the producer forced Mangroe to have sex with him while another man presumably watched, according to the suit. That same night, he allegedly raped her in the back of a van, the lawsuit says.

Mangroe was eventually signed to Contra Paris LLC in 2015, The-Dream’s record label, and the producer arranged for a distribution deal with Epic Records. The suit alleges that Contra facilitated his behavior and Mangroe had raised concerns to an executive with Epic, but she was told to “figure out a way to work with Dream again.” Contra and Epic are both named as defendants.

NBC News reached out to Sony Music Entertainment, which owns Epic, for comment. Efforts to locate contact information for Contra were unsuccessful.

In July 2016, Mangroe was informed that she had been dropped from the label.

Wigdor and Firetog, Mangroe's attorneys, said the lawsuit is “yet another horrific example of how men in the music industry use their power and influence to manipulate and harm others.”

Wigdor and Firetog represented singer Cassie Ventura in her lawsuit accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape and abuse.

“Dream, like Sean Combs did with Ms. Ventura and others, used his standing as a prominent recording artist and producer to subject Ms. Mangroe to vicious physical, psychological, and sexual abuse,” the lawyers said in a joint statement.

“While she will never fully recover from what he and those who supported him did to her, her willingness to speak out now is evidence of her extraordinary strength,” they continued. “We are honored to represent her.”

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Bloomington man will spend 36 years in prison after a jury in Monroe County found Eric Montgomery guilty of rape, obstruction of justice, and giving alcohol to a minor.

Around 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 17, 2022, Avery McMillan was found unresponsive at a home in the 4100 block of Arlington Road, near State Road 46 and North Maple Grove Road.

Deputies gave McMillan three doses of Narcan but were unable to revive her.

Nearly two months later, the Monroe County coroner said McMillan died from a fentanyl overdose.

McMillan, who was originally from Valparaiso, was in a sorority at IU but lived in an apartment in Bloomington.

According to court documents, a roommate was with McMillan on their way home from a house party the night before her death.

The roommate told investigators that McMillan became combative and got out of the car near East 10th Street and North Indiana Avenue. McMillan did not have her ID, phone or keys with her.

Police said surveillance video from McMillan's apartment complex shows her stumbling around in the parking garage for more than two and a half hours, but she is unable to get into the building without her key fob.

At about 5 a.m. on Aug. 17, Montgomery can be seen driving into the parking lot where McMillan had been stumbling around. About nine minutes later, his car can be seen leaving the garage.

Court documents allege Montgomery told police he had sex with McMillan in a parking garage and then back in his room at his parents' house.

Montgomery also admitted to giving McMillan more alcohol and marijuana, and Montgomery said he noticed McMillan was having trouble breathing.

Police also claim Montgomery told them McMillan had been using his phone, but when police checked the phone, they say a call and messages referenced were before Montgomery found McMillan in the parking garage at her apartment complex.

Police said Montgomery made the 911 call.

The man told deputies he met McMillan the night of Aug. 16 near IU's campus and both went back to his home. He told deputies he found McMillan unconscious the morning of Aug. 17 and called 911. Deputies said at the time that Montgomery was cooperating with the investigation.

An arrest warrant was then served on Aug. 30 for Montgomery.

"Due to Montgomery’s violent and extensive criminal history, the CIRT team assisted with the warrant service," Sheriff Brad Swain said in a statement.

Montgomery was taken into custody on a traffic stop without incident and taken to jail.

13News looked into Montgomery's criminal background. He has faced past charges for domestic battery, intimidation, burglary, fraud, and numerous drug and traffic charges.

As a habitual offender with prior felony convictions, up to 30 years could be added to Montgomery's sentence. He is also charged with raping a neighbor in 2021 in a separate case awaiting trial.

The woman told police at the time that Montgomery had called and asked to come over because he was upset about a friend that had been killed.

In court documents, the woman told investigators Montgomery asked to be held while he cried and then began assaulting the victim and raping her.

The woman told police she repeatedly told Montgomery "no" during the assault and went to the hospital where evidence was collected. The kit was sent to the Indiana State Police Crime Lab and a DNA profile was developed.

It wasn't until September 2022 that the Ellettsville Police Department got a search warrant to get a DNA sample from Montgomery to connect him to the rape.

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — A court in Romania’s capital on Friday ruled that a trial can start in the case of influencer Andrew Tate, who is charged with human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

The Bucharest Tribunal ruled that prosecutors’ case file against Tate met the legal criteria but did not set a date for the trial to begin. Tate’s spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, said the ruling has been appealed.

Tate, 37, was arrested in December 2022 near Bucharest along with his brother, Tristan Tate, and two Romanian women. Romanian prosecutors formally indicted all four in June last year. They have denied the allegations.

“The ruling issued by the preliminary chamber judge lacks legal basis and reasoning,” Eugen Vidineac, one of the brothers’ lawyers, said after the decision. “We have filed a strong appeal as we believe the ruling to be unlawful.”

Ahead of the court’s decision Friday, the legal case had been discussed for months in the preliminary chamber stages, a process in which the defendants can challenge prosecutors’ evidence and case file.

“We reassert our belief in the fairness of the arguments we presented during the preliminary hearing and in the memoranda concerning the legality of the criminal investigation,” said Ioan Gliga, another lawyer for the Tates. “Although they did not receive the necessary attention in the preliminary hearing, we are confident that the appeal court judge panel will support us.”

Andrew Tate, who has amassed 9.1 million followers on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, has repeatedly claimed that prosecutors in Romania have no evidence against him and that there is a political conspiracy to silence him.

Tate was previously banned from various prominent social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views and for hate speech. Both Tates are dual British-U.S. citizens.

Last month, the Bucharest Tribunal extended geographical restrictions against Tate, a former professional kickboxer, stipulating he cannot leave the country. Tate had requested that he be able to travel within the European Union with the prior approval of a judge.

After the Tate brothers’ arrest, they were held for three months in police detention before being moved to house arrest. They were later restricted to Bucharest Municipality and nearby Ilfov County, but can now travel freely around Romania.

Also last month, the Tate brothers appeared at the Bucharest Court of Appeal in a separate case, after British authorities issued arrest warrants over allegations of sexual aggression in a U.K. case dating back to 2012-2015.

The appeals court granted the British request to extradite the the Tates to the U.K., but only after legal proceedings in Romania have concluded.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - An Uber driver in Thurston County is being held in jail on suspicion of rape and kidnapping after allegedly assaulting a female passenger.

The Washington driver, who KOMO News is not naming because charges have not been filed against him, was found by the victim’s father during the attack, according to a sheriff’s report.

The incident began early Saturday morning when deputies from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Gardner Ct. SE and Nisqually Park Drive SE in an unincorporated area of the county.

A 911 caller reported hearing someone say "I don’t want to kill you" followed by two gunshots and then vehicles leaving the area, the sheriff’s report states.

A responding deputy stopped a car on Sixth Avenue Southeast and found the driver, later identified as the Uber driver, bleeding heavily from his head and hands.

The deputy called for medics to respond to the scene and noted that there was a cell phone, a black T-shirt and a single shoe in the backseat of the Uber driver’s car. The driver said those items did not belong to him and attempted to leave the scene on his own before agreeing to go with paramedics to the hospital, the report states.

Other deputies who responded to the incident made contact with family members of the victim, including her father.

According to investigators, the victim had been out drinking with friends at a bar when one of her friends ordered her an Uber to go home. The friends were with her when she got in the Uber and then went to a different bar before returning home.

The report says when the victim’s friends arrived at her house, they realized she was not there. The friends told deputies they were alarmed because the drive from the bar to the house was only 12 minutes, and she should have been home roughly 30 minutes prior.

The friends alerted the victim’s father, who then checked his daughter’s location and saw it was near the Nisqually River on 6th Ave SE. The father went to the location with other family members and found the Uber driver’s vehicle in a gravel pullout.

According to the report, the family found the victim unclothed in the backseat of the Uber and the driver was "jumping over the center console" and appeared to be trying to hold his pants up.

Sheriff’s officials say the victim's father fired a gun twice during the confrontation, but the shots did not hit anyone. The family, however, did assault the Uber driver while getting him away from the victim, according to the sheriff's report.

Thurston County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Rudy Breteler said in court Monday that the driver's injuries at the time he was found by the were "substantial." Breteler added that he believed it was suspicious the driver attempted to leave the scene without medical care due to the extent he was injured.

Deputies noted the victim was so intoxicated she was incapable of consent, and she did not remember what happened between being picked up at the bar and arriving at her house.

Investigators said the friend’s Uber app, which was used to get the victim a ride, showed her being picked up at 12:17 a.m. and dropped off at an address that was not her residence at 12:31 a.m.

The Life 360 app on the victim’s phone showed she was in a moving vehicle for 23 minutes and had passed the Uber dropoff point and then continued to the point where the family members found her.

“Marking (victim) as dropped off in the Uber app, yet continuing to transport her to another location, demonstrated (suspect’s) intent to conceal (victim’s) location where he believed no one could find her so that he could sexually assault her,”Breteler wrote in a declaration of probable cause filed in court.

Thurston County Superior Court Judge John Skinder set the suspect's bail at $100,000 in a hearing Monday afternoon. Skinder also imposed conditions that if the suspect posts bail he can have no contact with the victim, possess weapons or work on any rideshare platforms. The suspect would also have to be on a GPS monitor if he posts bail, Skinder ruled.

An arraignment hearing for the suspect was set for July 2.

Uber sent the following statement to KOMO News in response to the allegations:

The driver’s behavior is appalling and has no place in our society or on the Uber platform. We take reports of this nature very seriously and removed the driver’s access to the platform as soon as we were made aware of the incident. NEW YORK -- A video circulating online helped lead to the arrest of the suspect in a violent assault and rape in the South Bronx, police say.

It happened on May 1 on East 152nd Street near Courtland Avenue in Melrose.

In surveillance video, you see the attacker ambush a woman with a belt, wrapping it around her neck and dragging her to the ground. The woman appears to be knocked unconscious.

The video shows the man position her body between two parked cars. Police say the man then raped her.

The victim was hospitalized, treated and released.

The video was posted online earlier this week, and police say they were able to quickly make an arrest.

Bronx man arrested in violent rape, assault
Kashaan Parks, 39, was arrested Saturday and has been charged with rape, assault, strangulation, sex abuse, public lewdness and harassment. It is unknown when he will go before a judge.

The victim told police she recognized Parks from the neighborhood but didn't know him personally.

Despite news of the arrest, some women in the neighborhood are still nervous.

"If it could happen to her, it could happen to anybody and that we're not safe. None of us are safe, and it's been like that for a while, but it just feels like... I'm scared now that the weather is going to get hot, that the crime is going to get worse. So yeah, I feel bad for her. I hope she's OK," neighbor Christina Torres said.
