They require a basic amount of deuterium or they'll just fizzle. That stuff has such a
short half life that 25 years after a warhead is produced, it has to be disassembled and
it's deuterium replaced. That's an extremely expensive process and I doubt very much
Russia has maintained their nukes. They sure haven't done a good job of maintaining their
conventional arms.

That's why I'm not worried about Putin's empty threats to fire nukes.
