It's not too bad, but takes a lot of space and bandwidth. I don't think it's any harder than i2p.

I2P actually started as a project for Freenet.

I think for optimal anonymity within Freenet you need to only connect to friends you trust. Freenet in opennet mode has "limited anonymity" according to their own website.

Very limiting, which is something that I hate for an "anonymous first" platform to be. I mean, what happens if my "friend" betrayed me? An anonymous platform should be resilient to evil 3rd parties, at least.

Thank god for i2p and tor. Well maybe tor is a lost cause because it tends to favor good connection and throughput, making three letter agencies easy access to be the first, second, or third hop in a tor route.
