I tried BBS mail some weeks ago in an older test install and it worked (or appeared to work).

I just pulled most recent rslight from git. I installed and configured at news.sybershock.com. I enabled gnupg in gpg.conf. The keys are showing valid:

The new rslight install pulls messages from remote fine and all portal pages and nntp server check out.

I tried sending several BBS mail messages. None of the messages propagate to the newsgroup or arrive at the target server. They show up in the sent list locally.

Most test messages sent redirect to a missing page but the browser does not show the URL, so I don't know what to do about that.

What am I missing?

Registration is enabled for registering test accounts. Since I have not automated the cron the test messages (hopefully) don't propagate.

I get this error from the cron job each time I trigger it:

You need to install PECL gnupg >= 0.4 on your server.

Then I looked at the web server configuration and the web server was using php8.2.

So I installed php8.2-gnupg and I removed php8.3-gnupg.

Then the BBS mail key was generated and the messages populated to the news feed. So that much is working.

This is a known issue, but does not break things. It's rslight trying to
close an already closed socket.

I'll get on it once more important bugs are fixed (I'm finishing one now
:)

As a note, if you pulled rslight in the last 24-48 hours, there are two bugs that are now fixed in the latest commit. One bug would not let you post if you did not have a specific value in overrides.inc.php, so that's kinda not great. It's all fixed now.

You're timing was perfect (to install bugs) :)

Oh, and I fixed the sed error (thanks Marco and Ray!)
