Darn, this is not a game based on the Thief series. ;-/
I was hoping it was something akin to "Hitman Go", except with Garret
as the protagonist.(Who owns the Thief franchise these days, anyway?
Is it still Squenix?).

Given the retro-graphics and the middling reviews (especially
regarding its hard-lock bugs), I think I'll pass. For once, The Number
remains at its current level.

Anyway, should I ever change my mind, the game is frequently
discounted to 69* cents USD, so I won't be out too much dosh if I do
have to buy it.

Answering my own question:

It's CDE Entertainment, part of the Embracer group, who now holds the
license to the "Thief" IP. Oh dear. Square never seemed to 'get' the
Thief franchise, but at least they seemed earnest in wanting to make
new, good games in the series (even if the results weren't that
great). I've a lot less confidence in Embracer's goals or abilities.

Oh well. It could be worse. It could be Tencent.
