No one is fooled by this jackass' garbage, when it gets ignored and

Correction, -highhorse posted his "gotcha" post at 8:20, while I
posted my amendment at 8:21. I loaded new headers before 8:20, so his
"gotcha" post wasn't yet showing.

Doesn't matter, because it was *you* who chose to cite him.

As such, if you knew prior that Prince wasn't such a smart guy, then you
should have never cited him back in your 7/16/24 2:51 PM posting.

That's 100% on you, because it was your doing, so your responsibility.

You don't now apologize that the guy's a moron afterwords: you apologize
to everyone in the newsgroup for your poor judgement of citing them.

And if -highhorse comes back with "well I didn't see your amendment,
either", it's a moot point.

Bottom line, it was clearly a simple oversight, on my part, to have
not included the "or all part of the plan" in my first response.
There was no "gotcha". My argument is consistent.

How so? Be specific in your attempt to split hairs.

Because both are law enforcement, and the only recourse you have is to
use what I've already told you: differing Rules of Engagement policies.

Trespass is a civil offense, not a capital offense.
Speeding is a civil offense, not a capital offense.
Jaywalking is a civil offense, not a capital offense.

Where that comment would be:
"I, chrisv, am a moron who do not comprehend this legal distinction".

Have you read the OSHA regulations yet?

Because its not just merely slope.

That's also a consideration for why local LEO's weren't up there.

But chrisv (et al) still need to go read **all** of the OSHA safety
regulations for working on roofs: it isn't only the roof slope that's
called out.

BTDT...on a literally _flat_ roof structure inside of a High Bay.
Mitigation costs all that bad, fortunately, but it still had to be done.

He's repeating what the Secret Service director was saying as a defense
for her gross incompetence. A four-year-old would have been able to
navigate that slope.

I wouldn't worry about it. This is how -highhorse operates. Instead of
substantially engaging in an argument he's petty and picayunish. He latches
on to minor issues because his argument is weak. It's a small-minded tactic,
but that's all he's got and he knows it. You can waste a lot of time arguing
with someone like him, which is why I have had him killfiled for a long
time.

The scenario I forwarded looks much more likely to me than
all these speculatory statements that do little more than
attempt to "make the other guys look bad". :/

According to today's explanation a local cop got on the roof, saw a rifle
pointed at him, and got the hell out of Dodge. Was he going to violate
OSHA regulations?

Just keep spinning like a dreidel.

The scenario you forwarded had a lot reasonable stuff in it. However,
it didn't address some key points. Two examples:

Why are we being lied-to by the head of the secret service, with that
"sloped roof" nonsense?

The suspicious behavior was observed not only right-before the shots
were fired, but many minutes earlier. Why wasn't Trump taken off the
stage?

Was anyone fooled? I wasn't.

I think that -highhorse's above analogy is about as stupid as I've
read, since the time he compared choosing a Linux distro with choosing
something to eat from a variety of unopened, unlabeled cans.

He's a "smart one", that -highhorse.

Well, we're just "civilians" and -highhorse is some sorta black-ops
expert (laff).

Do you suppose that -highhorse is such a pussy that he'd be too afraid
to walk on that roof, if lives were at stake? Sounds like it, to me.

Yeah, they really are idiots. When the director of the Secret Service
started saying such things, it was clear that it was the dumbest excuse
and that no self-respecting individual would buy it. However, because
she was the person who almost got Trump killed and because defending
gross incompetence is something Democrat advocates have been doing at
least since Carter, they not only bought it, but spread it as truth.
Apparently, the life of a former and future president is less important
than a sniper possibly slipping on a banana peel.

I'm amazed... AMAZED I tell you! ... that the shooter was able to maintain
his grip on the "oh, so steeply pitched" roof!

Good grief, talk about grasping at straws. Only total morons would fall for
this bullshit lie. (-highhorse, take your bows.)

Here's a picture of the "extreme and dangerously sloped roof." Notice the
"daredevils" (Evel Knievel clones?) just STANDING on it. How could they be
so foolhardy?

https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/07/inspectors-search-roof-thomas-matthew-85558789.jpg?w=1024

Is -highhorse really that gullible?

And here's a comparison between the sloped roof the Secret Service used,
compared to the one "too sloped" to be used.

https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/050/622/sloped_roof_meme.jpg

I'm "convinced" -highhorse. Convinced that you wouldn't know the truth if it
bit you on the ass. Also convinced that the head of the Secret Service
(obviously a DEI hire) doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. Either
that or she actually thinks everyone is as gullible as -highhorse. Hint to
Secret Service head — we're not that stupid... "we," apparently, not
including -highhorse.

Smarter than chrisv by double-digits. Not that that's hard.
