Since I am on the topic of optical media, let's consider "packet
writing," which allows a DVD+/-/RAM optical disk to be used as sort
of a huge floppy disk, i.e. one can read and write sectors over and over.

GNU/Linux has had this capability for a LONG time:

https://docs.kernel.org/cdrom/packet-writing.html

What about Microcrap Winblows?

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

Never had it. Never will.

A further testament to the absolute junk that is Microslop.

This is Nuxxie, out.

per wikipedia:

"Windows Vista and later can natively access and write to both FAT32
and UDF formatted DVD-RAM discs using mastered burning method or
packet writing."

A further testament to your rotten, lying self.
