The sophisticated computer user (like most GNU/Linux users) knows
his mathematics/statistics. After all, math underlies ALL programming
and programming is what GNU/Linux is all about (we exclude the pussy
distros of Ubuntu/Mint/et.al.).

Below is a list of the land areas, in km^2, of 20 nation states (it
doesn't matter what the names are).

There are two columns of area data. One is true. The other is fake.

Which one is which?

Explain your answer.

The other possibility is that an answer cannot be given based on
the data.

If so, explain.

My prediction: NONE of the dumb-shit COLA lackeys will get it.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

GNU/Linux is for the SUPERIOR.

Land areas of 20 nation states in km^2.
One column has phony data. Which one is it?
Or can an answer be given?

Section 1.

[...] No state shall make or enforce any law which shall

Dobbs rewrites this, it is invalid precedent. States are

AGAIN, no it does not. LOGIC underlies all programming.

The only thing that can possibly be done to "prove" anything is to add up the
2 columns. Column 1 adds up to 14,041,590. Column 2 adds up to 15,275,558.
The total land area of Earth is 149 million km2.

These numbers immediately got my attention.

Given that you have demonstrated over and over and over that you know nothing
about math OR programming, the obvious answer is you added these up and
somehow got the commas in the wrong place, so you think that column 2 is more
than the total land area of Earth. 152 million versus 149 million total land
area.

So by that (wrong) logic, column 2 is fake and column 1 is correct with 140
million.

Otherwise, there is not enough info here to determine anything.

So the answer is, you don't know how to do math on Linux OR no answer is
possible. You of course will deny that you fucked up, so therefore no answer
is possible.

I forgot to add that, even if column 2 IS wrong, that does not prove that
column 1 is correct. Logically (again, that thing that you deny) this only
proves that column 2 can't be correct. Column 1 could still be wrong, but
there is not enough info here to prove that.

As always, logic is the primary requirement here. The math is secondary and
extremely simple.

First, consider the nature of the data. Is is measured data (as opposed
to assigned data) that is associated with a unit (km^2).

Second, the data extends over several orders of magnitude, from 10^2
to 10^6.

Third, land area is essentially a power relation, i.e. area = length^2.

Thus, these aspects are nearly perfect for Benford's Law to apply:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benford%27s_law

Looking at the second column, it seen that the first digit "9" occurs
4/20 = 20% of the time. This would never happen with Benford's Law.

Therefore, column 2 is the phony data.

Benford's Law is actually admissible in a court of law in cases
of accounting fraud. It is also used in election fraud.

But from a mathematical perspective, Benford's Law is still not
rigorously proven, which means that it is still largely empirical.

Only as recently as the 1990's was an "explanation" given which
is not mentioned in the WikiPedia article.

The point remains, however, that the programmer has to know how
to analyze data.
