Essentially giving it away for free. DumFSck used to call that
"competing unfairly", until M$ started doing it.

Of course, M$ gets their payout later, by spying on you and selling
your information. Linux doesn't do that.

Completely unfair competition, regardless of who does it. But consumers
benefit, so it's usually accepted.

Like I said before, I'd love to see the look on your gimpy face when
your boss brings Joe GPL into your cube, says Joe will do your job for
free, and you're fired and being escorted out right now.

The shitv blubbering would be epic. Cope.

No wonder my mini PC with Win 11 Pro cost only a little more than the
"official" Windows offered on Amazon.

I'm not saying it's unfair, I'm saying they're making it trivial to
get 11 Pro on bare metal (this isn't a product key, so hard to use if
even possible in a VM, but on bare metal you get a digital license on
the first install, so it's always good on that motherboard).

It's conceivable they used a deal like that to install it, yeah.
Normally OEMs get licenses from M$ and are required to support it
themselves, but I would have to look at the specific scenario with
your device.

So giving away television and radio entertainment over the air, for
example, is "completely unfair competition"?

As usual, it's easy to demonstrate what a stupid, constantly wrong
dipshit you are. Lucky for you, you're a shameless jackass.

wtf moron? You pay for cable or streaming subscriptions and/or you pay
by being subjected to advertising.

Trump went to business school: he knows a 1000% tariff on a $0 product
will increase the cost to $1000...

Wouldn't it be funny if the whole GuhNoo "community" was suddenly forced
to pay for software?

Cries of "Mom! I need some money!" would reverberate all thru the Feeb
and Larry Duh and Creepy Ahlstrom households.

Except that that's never happened. To anyone. Ever. Why? Because
it makes no sense.

It's not, at all, analogous to the Free software community, you dumb

sudo apt install bsdgames

$ wtf wtf
WTF: where's the food

After updating /usr/share/games/bsdgames/acronmyms

$ wtf wtf
WTF: what the fuck

Works on Ubuntu. You also get atc, boggle, hack, phantasia, and quiz.

On Arch it is "bsd-games". But it doesn't include wtf, which is in AUR.

You can do better, it's way too simplistic. There is a lot of money to
be made with FOSS. The future of Microsoft is not with Windows/Office
installed on the desktops but with Office365 and Azure. Some big FOSS
tools like docker and kubernetes started as proprietary softwares to be
released later as FOSS.

Yeah, he could stop lying, for a start.

FOSS is not driven by malice any more than any other community is.
It's simply people working together to make life better for everyone.

No one has anything against paid professionals. Obviously. Almost
all of us are, in some way. Even DumFSck makes a good living
picking-up dog turds. But paid professionals don't always make the
most sense.

One wonders if that dumb fsck would claim that people who post helpful
how-to tutorials or videos that allow people to do home and car
repairs by themselves are driven by malice towards professionals.
That's no more a crazy lie than his anti-FOSS rants.

> Get back to me when Microsoft gives Windows away.

For some reason it has always been possible to activate Windows 10
with an existing Windows 7 key. It's not exactly 'giving away', but
MS made it extremely easy to have a fully activated Windows 10 without
spending any money.

So there's that :-)

I could've had Win10 Pro and upgraded it to 11 on this machine, for
zero dollars, yes. I didn't know I could merely use the Win7 key.

I just found back my old slrn config files and wondered whatever
happened with cola :-)

First reply was to DFS, so nothing really changed I suppose!

TomBaby!

It's been nearly 7.5 years since the resident rock drummer/Linux
advocate graced us.

How's life in Belgium?

How's your latest Windows job going?

Note: the Internet says you can't use your Win7 key to activate Win10.

heh! Isn't it great you can count on this stinkpit?

June of this year marked my first 20 years on cola, so I'm working on my
back 20 now.
