Somehow, I have lost a sticky/post-it app from my android.

It opened as a coloured box on the right of the screen where the message
could be typed - then - and this is the important bit - it could be
reduced to a tiny box at the top-right of the screen, which could be
clicked to re-open.
I have tried those on Play Store, but they all disappear on minimising
and I/you have to remember they are there. The one I lost has that
constant presence, least I should forget.
I have Google Keep and OneNote for serious stuff.

Didn't you decide that <https://floatingnotes.com>
was causing you problems with pink circles on top of other apps?

For the next time you have a similar problem ('lost' app):

Assuming you installed the app from the (Google) Play Store (or Google
Play website) and the app is indeed 'lost', i.e. no longer in the list
of apps in Settings:

Play Store app -> your 'avatar' in the upper-right corner -> Manage
apps & device -> 'Manage' tab -> change left-hand drop down menu from
'This device' to 'Not installed'.

This will list all the apps which were installed for the current
Google *Account* (not neccessarily this *device*), but which are not/
no-longer installed on this device. Browse the list to find your 'lost'
app and re-install it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Frank
Part of the problem was that I forgot the 'floating' bit so couldn't
find it in the Play Store list.
I must be newer version than the one I deleted as it has more bells and
whistles than before and no pink circles (yet)

I meant, go through the *whole* list until you find/recognize "This is
the one!". So don't jump to the apps starting with 'n' (for 'notes').

For example one of my first ones is "Acapela TTS Voices", so if I
don't remember the 'Acapela' bit and start looking at the 'T' (for TTS,
Text-To-Speech), I won't find/see it.

Muntashirakon app manager is way better than searching google play store.

<a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager">App Manager</a>

Please read what you snip.

It's not for searching the Google Play store, but for searching the
apps which *this* (Google Account) user has *previously* installed - on
*any* of hir devices - and which is *now* not/no_longer present on
*this* device.

It sure does! I'd wondered how to get rid of all the junk I'd tried out.
I've just freed up over half a gig of memory.

Doesn't seem applicable to Android 11, unfortunately. The website shows
everything I've ever installed on any device EVER, and I'd really like
to eliminate any reference to those I deleted, or at least see some

As I clearly described, I was not talking about the (Google Play)
website, but about the Play Store app.

In the Play Store app, the 'Not installed' list has tick-marks next
to each entry and if you tick one or more of them, you will see a
trash-can (with 'X') icon in the upper-riight. Tapping that icon, let's
you delete apps from the list.

This is on (Samsung Galaxy A51) Android 13, but AFAIK it's been like
this since 'forever' (Android 4/5).

Just tried it on an old acer tablet running Android 5.1 and it works.

I know. I was just mentioning an auxiliary annoyance.

Yes, just in a slightly different place. Flailing ultimately found it.
