I disagree. Learning about electron hopping and traveling waves don't
bear much change on religious scripture. What you are calling
'education' is deliberate right wing brainwashing. You jump around and
say this scripture in Genesis doesn't match with the Tyrannosaurus Rex
bones you looked at last week. Trying in some way to disprove the Bible
in its entirety. I learn about real analysis and military ranks.

Modern science makes the World seem less magical, which used to be ascribed
to phenomena such as lightning, earthquakes, rainbows, etc.

Modern science helped me to see phenomena as natural, not supernatural. But
Tahiti is still a magical place ... I'm trying to say that rainbows and so on
don't have to lose their magic, in the metaphorical sense of marvelousness or
wondrousness.

Well, actually, to me, and purely subjectively, modern science makes the
world _more_ magical, deeper and more rich.

I mean if the reason for a black hole is "god did it" that's just boring.
With science we have deep, complex and beautiful answers.
