A 71-year-old Duluth man has been charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a woman in her early 20s at the Duluth Transportation Center.

Adrian Tramaine Greene Sr. was approached by the victim outside of RT Quinlan's Bar around 1:15 p.m. on March 10, and she asked him if he had any money.

According to the criminal complaint, Greene allegedly said he could take her to the ATM inside the transportation center and give her $50. The woman agreed, saying she would pay him back the following week.

The two went to the bus station and took an elevator up to the third floor. The victim said once they got to the transportation center, Greene started making "threatening remarks," such as "no matter what if you don't come with me, I will shoot your fiancé."

The complaint says as they were walking through the skywalk, Greene started to compliment the woman, saying she was "beautiful" and that she "looks young."

Greene then allegedly walked the woman into a corner and touched her inappropriately, eventually sexually assaulting her.

The victim said she repeatedly rebuffed Greene and said she wanted to leave. However, she told police she thought Greene might've killed her if she didn't do what he told her.

Greene eventually stopped because people were approaching them in the skywalk.

According to the complaint, the victim was able to take her phone out and call her fiancé, whispering "911" during the call so Greene wouldn't be able to hear.

The two then made their way back to the elevator and Greene gave the woman $9 in cash.

The woman then went back to RT Quinlan's Bar, where she called the police.

Officers were able to review surveillance footage of the skywalk area near the transportation center, showing the assault take place.

Police later tracked down Greene at the Round Up Bar, a mile south of RT Quinlan's, around 2:35 p.m. At the time, Greene appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested.

Greene denied touching the victim but said he was in the skywalk area with "some broad" who asked for $20.

Greene is charged with one count each of 1st, 2nd and 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison. Greene made is scheduled for an omnibus court hearing on April 9.

On Wednesday, Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert issued a statement about his office's plans to improve safety in the city's skywalks, which will include increased police foot patrols.
