Nope, you were forced to snip my reply to try to save face:

[quote]

Fox lied to you.

They lied because a +52% increase from $2.392/gal (week ending 1/25/21)
is equal to $3.638/gal, whereas prices are roughly 50 cents/gal lower,
namely either $3.136 to $3.171, depending on if Fox published as per EAI
week ending 10/07/24 or 10/14/24.

And you don't need to believe me: go check the cite & math yourself:

I'll look into your goalpost move to complain about electrical rates.
Of course, you'll of course provide first what the connection is to
political policy which caused these rate increases, right? That means
it was not from increased demand, nor climate change, nor forest fires.

No cite provided for any of the above...of course.

But to start fact-checking, here's the EIA chart on diesel prices:

<https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMD_EPD2D_PTE_NUS_DPG&f=W>

Current data is week ending 10/14/24 has diesel at $3.631/gallon, which
is a "mere" 43 cents/gallon (12%) lower than your claimed price. Oops.

FYI on diesel costs, there's far more to that story, including the crude
grade mix OPEC is choosing to sell, because gas is more profitable per
barrel than diesel: the 2020 production cutbacks that Trump called for
resulted in a change of the crude oil ratios, and they curtailed diesel
centric crude grades more than gasoline to reduce their losses.

Plus diesel is overwhelmingly commercial, not private vehicles, and from
a supply-demand standpoint, they're a much more inflexible market.

Because what really matters in this goalpost shift attempt is if it is
even relevant to US consumers in their day-to-day budget. After all,
commercial transportation cost increases have already been accounted for
in other CPI metrics (e.g. groceries). So how relevant is diesel fuel
to US households? Well, the percent of privately owned diesel vehicles
is just 3.4% in the USA, which means that the price of diesel isn't even
in most (96%) household transportation budgets.

And sure, there's regional variations: a good chunk of the US fleet's
remaining POV diesels are pickups and often owned out West ... but lets
not forget that a common taxman cheat is to "occasionally" fill from
farm fuel (and/or home heating oil) to avoid paying highway road taxes.

Unfortunately for you, I've substantiated what I've said. You only have

You are basing your views on your feelings... not the evidence.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

If seeing is a feeling then so be it. The fact is you can't spin away

Pure democracy? That would be untenable in a nation of more than 300,000,000
citizens.

Four more reasons to not vote for Trump in 19 days.

50) Trump said he'd hire only the best people in the world.
But his campaign chair was convicted of multiple crimes.
So was one of his closest associates. His deputy campaign
chair pleaded guilty to crimes. So did his personal lawyer,
his national security adviser, the chief financial officer of
his business campaign, a campaign foreign policy adviser, and
one of his campaign fundraisers. They all committed crimes and
Trump pardoned most of them!

51) Trump said he'd drain the swamp in Washington, D.C. but he
appointed more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls to his
administration than any administration in history.

52) Trump intervened to get his son-in-law, Jared Kushner,
Top Secret clearance after he was denied over concerns about foreign influence.

53) Trump hosted a Russian foreign minister in the Oval Office
where Trump revealed top secret intelligence.

54) Trump promised that the average American family would see
a $4,000 pay raise because of his tax cuts for the wealthy and
big corporations. Well, how did that work out? Did you get a
$4,000 raise? Of course not! Nobody did!

Perhaps Skeeter is a woman. The poster is using a feminine name and his/her

Skeeter may well be in the same sock family as pothead.

Which is what qualifies you as a liar. You shop, you know that prices are NOT
double what they were four years ago but you keep claiming they are.

Therefore, you prove yourself to be lying.

Liar. You run from them and never post any. For example, you admitted you

Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine

Nobody did!

He always does. Instead of a logical or analytical response in debate, he
offers some emotional distraction or non sequitur that amounts to pulling his
pants up and going home.

>You see evidence and run. Not an
>interesting conversation for me. Remember, unlike you I tend to focus on
>evidence and logic and equal rights over your tendency to go with feelings.

That is characteristic of today's right. The GOP has cultivated voters who
operate on emotions but this is costing them voters who operate on data.

Trump has been rejected once. In a couple of weeks, America will again vote for
the left and right paths.

The prices on the graph are in nominal, not adjusted dollars. I note some
interesting items.

1) Gasoline prices remained flat throughout the Clinton Administration.
2) Immediately George Bush became President, gas prices rose sharply achieving
record peak highs.
3) In 2008 gas prices crashed along with the economy.
4) Through 2015, as the economy healed, gas prices went back up although not
quite as high is their Bush era peak.
5) In 2015, gas crashed and again in early 2016.
5) Immediately Donald Trump became President, gas prices rose again.
6) Following the pandemic price crash, gas reached it's new peak but quickly
declined to it's healthy economy average and continues to fall.

As noted above, gas is actually cheaper now in inflation adjusted dollars than
it was under Trump.

a $4,000 pay raise because of his tax cuts for the wealthy and
big corporations. Well, how did that work out? Did you get a
$4,000 raise? Of course not! Nobody did!

For example, bread, other grain based and oily foods (as well as animal feeds)
rose sharply because so much of Ukraine's grain, soybean and sunflower oil was
removed from global markets.

Now that Ukraine is actually exporting more than before the war, why have those
prices not gone back down?

Trump's tariff war against China has also disrupted global prices on grain and
especially soy beans.

That problem has solved itself with the influx of so many across the border. We
don't hear so much about farms unable to get in the harvests as we did three or
four years ago.
