A Minneapolis woman allegedly stabbed a man and was back on the streets to do it again just 12 days later.

Jewlese Maxine Floyd was quickly taken into custody after knifing a man at a light rail platform in Minneapolis on Aug. 5. After being released, she went on to stab a 68-year-old woman “approximately 15 times” in a hospital parking lot on Aug. 17, per a criminal complaint.

Floyd has since been released on bail for a second time by Ramsey County District Judge Richard Kyle. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 1.

Floyd’s first reported victim sustained injuries to his face after she attacked him from behind with a knife. Metro Transit police found the man bleeding at the Nicollet Avenue light rail station and arrested Floyd immediately.

Her most recent alleged victim was waiting in her car outside Regions Hospital at about 1:45 p.m. while her husband underwent a procedure inside. The victim was not allowed into the building because of COVID-19 regulations.

As she waited, the victim was approached by Floyd who “mumbled something and then began to stab her,” according to police. The victim sustained “multiple stab wounds to her upper chest, abdomen and forearms,” according to the criminal complaint.

“Medical records indicate that one of the stabs penetrated GMC’s abdominal cavity,” reads the complaint. This wound warranted surgical treatment. “The director of Regions Hospital trauma services reported to officers that in his view, the injuries suffered by GMC qualified as substantial bodily harm,” the document continues.

A heroic bystander disarmed Floyd after she stabbed the elderly woman at the hospital. This man later approached the responding officers and turned over the weapon, explaining that he was at the hospital waiting to undergo an operation, watched the assault transpire and then followed Floyd, taking away her knife to prevent further bloodshed.

Floyd is not the only Twin Cities criminal who was recently arrested, released and went on to quickly reoffend. A man accused of 13 burglaries was freed ahead of his trial and is now accused of perpetrating 18 more burglaries.

Police have identified the man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend in Bloomington earlier this week, putting her body in a dumpster and leading officers on a pursuit into south Minneapolis with their child in the vehicle.

Nasri Ahmed Abdilahi, 23, is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail and on Wednesday was formally charged with intentional 2nd-degree murder and one count of fleeing a peace officer.

Abdilahi is scheduled to make his first appearance Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, on Monday at around 9:45 a.m., Bloomington police went to Nicollet Court Apartments after a report of a female body being dragged and thrown in a dumpster.

When they arrived, multiple witnesses directed police to the dumpster, where they found a trail of blood leading up to it. The deceased woman was found inside, with blunt force injuries to her face and upper body, the complaint said.

A medical examiner also later found that the woman had stab wounds to the neck. She has not yet been identified by the medical examiner’s office.

A witness and resident of the apartment complex spoke to officers and told them she saw Abdilahi from out her window, dragging a body through the parking lot and dropping the body into the dumpster. She also pointed out Abdilahi in his vehicle as he drove by to officers, the complaint said.

Other witnesses who handle maintenance for the building said they heard a loud “thud” and another witness screaming about the victim being dragged to the dumpster. Others also told police that around 9 a.m., screams from the victim could be heard, but no one saw anything when they looked out from their apartments, the complaint said.

Officers eventually followed the blood trail and drag marks from the dumpster to the victim’s apartment, where they found a substantial amount of blood and knife laying in a pool of blood.

While at the apartment complex, Abdilahi drove by police in his vehicle. They attempted to stop him, but he drove away after slamming into a marked police car that was situated at the entrance of the complex. He proceeded to lead police on a high-speed chase which ended in south Minneapolis.

When officers apprehended Abdilahi, they found him covered in blood, with his and the victim’s young child inside the vehicle. The child was physically unharmed during the incident, authorities said.

Minneapolis police say one man is in custody and another has been hospitalized following a stabbing at the city’s farmer’s market.

According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of East Lyndale Avenue North shortly before 8:40 a.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing at the farmer’s market. The caller reported the attacker was walking away from the scene.

Police were able to find the suspect, identified as 68-year-old Louis Redus Jordan, near the entrance to Ramp A on Hawthorne Avenue. The Hennepin County Jail roster shows Jordan was booked shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday.

The man who was stabbed, identified only as being in his 40s, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for what police classified as a non-life-threatening stab wound.

No word on what led up to the stabbing, which is still being investigated.

A Minneapolis man has been charged in connection to a stabbing earlier this week on a Metro Transit bus.

Court documents show that 41-year-old Jarelle Thomas Vaughn is charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, including one that caused substantial bodily harm.

Metro Transit said it happened at around 1:30 p.m. on a southbound Route 5 bus near Chicago and Franklin avenues.

Witnesses told police that Vaughn got on the bus, was talking to himself and then took out a knife and tried to stab the person next to him, a criminal complaint states. While his first attempt left just a superficial wound, the second attempt seriously hurt the man, requiring surgery and stitches to his abdomen.

Vaughn then allegedly struck a woman with the knife before leaving the bus. The woman “was bleeding profusely,” witnesses told police, but her injury was a superficial wound.

The bus operator drove the victims a short distance to Children’s Minnesota Hospital for treatment, Metro Transit said.

Officers got surveillance video that showed the assaults and confirmed the witnesses’ accounts.

Vaughn was arrested a short time after the assaults.

His first court appearance is set for Friday afternoon. The higher assault charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A 33-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal stabbing in northeast Minneapolis in 2018.

Darnika Denise Floyd of Minneapolis is charged with second-degree murder. She faces up to 40 years in prison. In a hearing on Friday, a judge set bail at $1 million.

Minneapolis police began investigating the suspicious death on November 27, 2018. Around noon, police responded to a home in the 2600 block of Grand Street Northeast, where a man's body had been found. At the time, few additional details were released.

According to the charges, the body appeared to be deceased for several days. An autopsy later revealed the man died from a stab wound to his heart and that the manner of death was homicide.

Inside the home, the man's surveillance cameras had been removed and the system's hard drive was gone. His PlayStation was also found shattered on the floor. Officers noticed blood throughout the home, including an area high up on a wall where a surveillance camera had been.

Police learned from November 24 overnight into November 25, the man was with Floyd and another woman, referred to as a witness, at the home. The witness told police Floyd and the man had an argument because the man did not want to have sex with Floyd, but said he would have a threesome with both women. The witness refused, which angered Floyd, who then started to get aggressive with her. The witness told police she thought Floyd was jealous. At 6:08 a.m. the witness took a cell phone video of Floyd trying to attack her. In the video, the man attempts to ease stop Floyd. The witness told police, she left the home after the physical encounter.

Forensic testing showed Floyd's DNA was on a tissue used to wipe up the man's blood. Her DNA was also recovered from underneath his fingernails. Officials also found Floyd's fingerprint on an internal piece of the broken PlayStation. The piece with the fingerprint would have been impossible to touch until after it was shattered. Cell phone data showed Floyd stayed at the home until about 7:44 a.m. on November 25.

Family members told police Floyd had episodes of jealous rage and one time even threatened to kill the man and his family. Upon learning of his death, relatives told police they suspected Floyd.

Police spoke with Floyd multiple times as part of the investigation. In the first interview she claimed there were no negative interactions and that both she and the other woman left because the man didn't want anyone to stay the night. However, in a police interview on Jan. 22 of this year, Floyd changed her story. She claimed she kicked the other woman out of the home and then the man later made her leave. She denied cleaning up blood and claimed she never touched the PlayStation.

When the police confronted her with the DNA and fingerprint evidence, she continued to deny touching anything. When they asked her about the cell phone video, which showed she was at the home longer than she said, she claimed she was being set up or that the man had died by suicide. Following the interview, police arrested Floyd.

Floyd is in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
