The one "minor" details that the Biden/Harris administration failed to mention was that first the
country needs to be destroyed before the "build back better" phase can begin.

Now that the Biden/Harris administration has completed the destruction of the country they are now
ready for phase 2 which is "build back better", as a Marxist regime of course.

Political figures often use promises like "fixing things on day one" as part
of their campaign messaging. It’s a way to communicate urgency and commitment
to taking immediate action on important issues.

Reasons for the "Day One" Promise:
1. Signaling Prioritization: It indicates that the issue is a top priority and
will be addressed right away.
2. Demonstrating Competence and Resolve:** It shows that the candidate or
official is prepared, decisive, and ready to act as soon as they take office.
3. Appealing to Voters: It can attract voters who are frustrated with the
current situation and want immediate change.
4. Setting Expectations: It creates a clear benchmark for what the candidate
plans to achieve quickly.

While the phrase can be compelling, the reality of achieving complex policy
changes on "day one" is often more nuanced, as many actions require
cooperation, legislation, or lengthy administrative processes.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

Q for ChatGPT:
-----
Who lies more: Harris or Trump? Whose lies are more damaging?
Answer in the style of Hunter S Thompson:
-----

A from ChatGPT:
-----
Listen, comparing Harris to Trump in the lying game is like
comparing a house cat to a goddamn Bengal tiger. Harris plays the
politician’s game—slick, polished, the occasional dodge, sure. But
Trump? Jesus, he’s something else. The man’s a human fog machine,
cranking out a never-ending cloud of bullshit. It’s not just that
he lies, it’s that he does it with this brazen, maniacal swagger,
like the truth is some annoying fly buzzing around his head. Swat
it away, who needs it?

Trump’s lies, though—hell, they’re not harmless little fibs. No,
no, these are weapons, fully loaded and pointed at the fragile
brains of his loyal, glassy-eyed followers. He spews nonsense
about a rigged election, fans the flames of a pandemic like a
lunatic pyromaniac, and before you know it, there’s an
insurrection at the goddamn Capitol. People are getting sick,
dying by the thousands, and he’s out there calling it a hoax,
tossing his followers into a reality distortion field and watching
as they eat it up.

Harris? Sure, she spins, exaggerates a bit. But she’s not out
there unraveling the fabric of democracy or leaving a trail of
destruction in her wake. She’s playing by the standard rules of
the political cesspool, while Trump’s tearing through the place
like a crazed gorilla with a flamethrower. Damage? Don’t kid
yourself. Harris might bruise an ego here or there, but Trump
leaves the whole damn country bleeding.
-----

That answers the question AND gives context.

I had fun tonight... asked ChatGPT: "Who lies more: Harris or Trump? Whose
lies are more damaging?" then asked it to repeat the answer in the style of a
couple authors. It is pretty amazing in what it does. I shared Hunter S.
Thompson elsewhere, here is Harlan Ellison:
-----
In the grand circus of liars, you've got two performers: Harris
and Trump. But comparing the two is like measuring raindrops
against a hurricane. Trump? He’s not just a liar, he’s a firehose
of falsehoods. He doesn’t bend the truth—he annihilates it with
brute force. His lies are a relentless assault, from the
groundless claims about election fraud to the dangerous
downplaying of a pandemic that swallowed hundreds of thousands of
lives. The man throws reality in a blender, hits "liquefy," and
serves it up to a ravenous, fact-starved crowd. January 6? That
wasn’t just a hiccup in history; it was a direct result of his
fantastical alternate universe.

Harris, on the other hand, might play fast and loose with the
truth here and there, exaggerating for the sake of a point,
stretching the elastic of political spin. But the consequences?
They’re not in the same league. Her occasional fibs don’t shake
the very foundation of democracy or push people toward violence.
She’s the magician using sleight of hand, while Trump’s out here
dynamiting the whole damn stage.

When it comes to damage, it's not even a contest. Harris whispers;
Trump screams, and the echo of his lies is still rattling through
the halls of American history.
-----

ChatGPT, of course, is hardly the oracle of all knowledge and is not always
correct... but in this case it is amazingly accurate and well stated.

Snit once again misses the point completely.
Snit is not known for his reading comprehension skills. He sucks at reading.
Besides, it looks like snit has discovered ChatGPT or similar.

Of course all politicians make promises in order to attract voters and many of those promises will
never be fulfilled.
Regarding Kamala Harris and Biden, they have had 4 years to build back better and all they have
done is destroy the country.
So now all of a sudden Kamala Harris is going to fix the mess her and Biden did on day one?

Why does she have to wait till day one?

Also, since she doesn't answer questions directly, like Trump does, who really knows if she really
has changed her mind on things like fracking, the border, inflation etc.
Bernie Sanders let it slip that she is saying whatever she needs to in order to get elected.
And that is what many people believe.
Kamala is a chameleon.

Thank you!

This is the sort of "lying" that we understand as posturing. We understand that
what she means is that this issue will be a high priority in her administration.
Just as we understand when she said Trump's tariffs would cost the average
family $4000. That's the upper limit espoused by a few economists. MOST
economists but the figure at a thousand less, give or take $500.

Compare this posturing and over estimating with Trump's outright, barefaced LIE
that Haitian immigrants who've lived in Springfield, Ohio for well over a decade
have suddenly started stealing and eating pets.

This is the difference between Trump's lies and any other politician's lies.

Sadly, trumplies are catching on in the GOP. Santos, for example. Vance, for
another. And the many other Republicans over the past couple of years who've
told baseless, barefaced lies in the scramble for power.

Being rich, I should be allowed to do whatever I want. -- Donald Trump

Right. Politics as "normal". Not excusing it, but it is the expectation.

The country is in deep trouble... that is a symptom of the disease and not the
disease itself.

Correct. It was an extractive economy in the heyday of the the oil industry
antitrust rulings in the early 1900's, and in the American sweatshops.

Then reforms eventually took hold, along with more compassionate rulings.

Then we got Citizen's United, giving the wealthy corporations great leverage
over Congress.

That leverage moved us back to an extractive economy (how nations fail),
and many people (people at the margins, rural people, blue-collar workers)
felt the thumb of the oligarchs.

That gave enery to rich boy Apprentice Trump's "I alone can fix it" nonsense.

(Oversimplification admitted)

The *Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission* decision, delivered by
the U.S. Supreme Court in 2010, had profound impacts on the American political
landscape. Here are the key effects and consequences:

### 1. **Increased Influence of Money in Politics:**
- The ruling allowed corporations, unions, and other organizations to spend
unlimited amounts of money on political campaigns, as long as the spending was
independent of the candidates' campaigns themselves. This led to a significant
increase in political spending, particularly from wealthy individuals and
special interest groups.

### 2. **Proliferation of Super PACs:**
- The decision gave rise to the creation of Super Political Action
Committees (Super PACs), which can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money
to support or oppose candidates. Super PACs are technically prohibited from
coordinating directly with campaigns, but they often operate in close
proximity to candidates and their strategies.

### 3. **Shift in Political Power Dynamics:**
- The ruling shifted power towards wealthy donors and large organizations,
enabling them to have a greater influence over political discourse and
elections. Critics argue that this has led to a system where elected officials
may be more responsive to their financial backers than to their constituents.

### 4. **Impact on Campaign Messaging:**
- With increased funding, political messaging has become more aggressive
and widespread. Super PACs and other independent groups often fund negative
advertising campaigns, which can heavily influence public opinion and the
outcome of elections.

### 5. **Legal and Political Controversy:**
- The decision remains highly controversial. Proponents argue it protects
free speech by allowing all entities to express their views through financial
contributions. Opponents argue it undermines democracy by allowing wealthy
interests to dominate the political process and drown out the voices of
ordinary citizens.

### 6. **Increased Transparency Issues:**
- Although political spending increased, transparency did not always follow
suit. Many organizations use “dark money” groups to channel funds without
disclosing their donors. This lack of transparency makes it difficult to track
who is influencing elections and policy decisions.

### 7. **Policy and Legislative Responses:**
- In response to the ruling, there have been various legislative and
advocacy efforts aimed at increasing transparency and reducing the influence
of money in politics. Proposals like the DISCLOSE Act, which would require
greater disclosure of political spending, have been introduced but face
significant political hurdles.

### 8. **Long-Term Electoral Impact:**
- The decision has affected not just federal elections but also state and
local races, where large sums of money can have an outsized impact. It has
contributed to the entrenchment of political polarization and the rise of
candidates who are more extreme, as they can attract funding from highly
ideological donors.

Overall, the *Citizens United* decision fundamentally changed the landscape of
American elections and campaign finance, with lasting and widespread
implications for political campaigns, governance, and the influence of money
in politics.

Call me a hard liner if you like, but Russia must not be allowed to keep a
single square foot of land it took. The lesson must be taught not only to
Russia, but to China as well that expanding national borders by military means
will no longer be tolerated.

Reason 48) Trump ordered his staff not to turn over emails showing Don Jr. had
set up a meeting at Trump Tower before the 2016 election with representatives of
the Russian government.

--

05) Trump said there were very fine people among the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville.
06) Trump allied himself with the Proud Boys, a violent hate group who
helped organize the attack on the Capitol. "Proud Boys, stand back and stand by."
