I'm not a fan of Foxnews however Fox does have guests from both sides and in fact some of their
regular hosts are progressives as well. Jessica Tarlov and Juan Williams for example.
NewsMax is even better with shows that present both sides for the entire show.
And it can get quite raucous as well. So while both are most definitely right leaning they do make
a decent attempt at presenting both sides.

That's something you won't see on MSNBC who are 99.99% far left.
CNN is a little better in that regard but not by much.

Legacy TV is dying, at least for news which a growing number of people are getting from the
Internet.
That can be good or bad.

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of

A complaint is simply a method by which a person is charged with
criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is

The Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division has
supervisory authority over 18 U.S.C. §§ 871 and 879 cases. As great

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of
supervised release.

A complaint is simply a method by which a person is charged with
criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is
presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes
guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

What I really thought was "quaint" was One America News (or some such) although

Jessica Tarlov said something the other day that *really* got Greg Gutfeld going
off (he may be an egotist, but he has some *excellent* writers� if he writes his
own content, then he's a "closet genius"!) He took up the remainder of the

Gutfeld is witty but something about him just irritates me.

Demetrius Lamar Harris, 28, is charged with a 37-year-old man's murder.

A 28-year-old New Hope man is charged with a fatal stabbing that happened outside an apartment complex in Brooklyn Center on Tuesday.

Charges say Demetrius Lamar Harris fatally stabbed 37-year-old Antonio Levar Moore, of St. Louis Park, after Harris allegedly assaulted the victim's sister at the Twin Lake North Apartments.

Moore died of a "sharp force injury of the abdomen," according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

The victim's sister had previously been in a relationship with Harris and they have a child together, according to the criminal complaint.

Harris reportedly became angry with the woman after she "received a phone call from another man." That's when Harris allegedly assaulted the woman, prompting her to call her brother, Moore, asking him for help because Harris wouldn't leave the apartment.

When Moore arrived, Harris went out to the parking lot to meet him. The two started fighting, during which Harris stabbed Moore. His sister told police she saw her brother lying on the ground. Harris reportedly told her to "check on" him and "ran away."

Moore was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Harris was arrested later that same night after someone living at a nearby apartment complex reported him as an unwanted person in the building close to midnight.

"My thoughts today are with the victim’s family, and especially his sister who he was protecting during this incident," Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said.

“We will not tolerate violence in our communities. I’m grateful to the Brooklyn Center Police Department for working quickly to respond to the scene, identify the person responsible, and apprehend him. We will now aggressively prosecute this case to hold Mr. Harris accountable.”

Harris is charged with one count of 2nd-degree murder. If convicted, he face up to 40 years in prison. He's scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday afternoon.

HOUSTON — Classes were canceled Tuesday, the second day of the 2024 fall semester at Rice University, as the campus continued recovering in the wake of a murder-suicide that happened in a dorm room on the first day of the semester.

Police identified the student who was killed as Andrea Rodriguez Avila, a 21-year-old junior from Maryland. They said the man who shot her, 22-year-old Habeneyom Belai, wasn't a student and was from Florida. They were both found dead in Avila's dorm room at Jones College.

Avila was shot to death and the 22-year-old believed to have killed her had taken his own life, according to investigators.

Rice University police said the two had been dating and the man left a note at the scene.

They said the note detailed his troubled relationship with Avila. Rice University Police Chief Clemete Rodriguez said it included a lot about his connection with Avila.

"In general terms, it was a lot about their relationship and obviously, they were having a troubled relationship at this time," Rodriguez said.

What happened
The discovery was made during a welfare check Monday around 4:30 p.m., according to Rice University President Reginald DesRoche.

They started checking on Avila when a family member called asking for a welfare check. University officials said Avila didn't go to class on Monday so they went to her dorm to check on her. That's when they found the bodies.

University officials said Avila likely allowed the shooter to enter the building and there was no sign of forced entry into the dorm room.

Who was Avila?
Avila was from Nottingham, Maryland. She was a junior majoring in political science.

She was a member of the university's Honor Council, was a peer advisor at Jones College and was a deputy parliamentarian of the Rice Student Association, university officials said.

Avila had transferred to Rice in the spring from the Community College of Baltimore County.

Domestic violence tips
Domestic violence experts said the tragedy serves as a painful reminder that violence can happen to people from all walks of life, but it can be prevented and there is help out there.

Experts with the Houston Area Women's Center urge people to look out for signs of what could be abuse in a relationship.

"Identify when somebody is demeaning you, isolating you, controlling you, making you feel less than your full self and then blaming you for it. Those are signs that this person is not safe," HAWC President and CEO Emilee Whitehurst said.

Experts also wanted to remind people that it doesn't matter your age or background -- anyone can be a victim of an abusive relationship and knowing where to go for help is key.

Rice University activated a call center to support the community and they're also providing counselors.

A Rochester woman has been charged with murder after allegedly strangling a man to death and leaving him in Mayo Park.

Ruth Ann Miller, 25, is charged with one count of 2nd-degree murder, theft, and concealment of a body after she killed a 28-year-old man in June.

Police found the man dead at Mayo Park on June 15, with the criminal complaint stating that blood and foam coming out from his mouth and nose.

Miller decided to speak with police regarding the incident on June 26, according to the complaint.

In that interview with police, she confessed that the man died after she put a belt around his neck and strangled him.

She continued to say that she put her foot on his face while pulling at the belt for around two minutes before he began to foam at the mouth. She listened for his heartbeat before confirming he was dead.

Miller also admitted to stealing his belongings before leaving him there, hiding them at the Rochester Public Library, and throwing away the cloth belt under the bridge near 4th Street SE.

Miller allegedly told police that the man asked her to kill him, saying that he told her: "I want you to kill me, I can’t do this anymore."

After being given her Miranda warning, she took police to where she hid the stolen items. Because the autopsy was not completed at the time, police decided to let Miller out of custody and complete the investigation.

However, on August 28, the medical examiner's office confirmed the man’s death to be asphyxiation.

She was booked into custody on Thursday, and her bail was set at $1 million. Miller is currently representing herself in court, however recent filings show an order granting her a public defender.

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of
supervised release.

A complaint is simply a method by which a person is charged with
criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is
presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes

threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon

knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the
President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the

(b)The terms “President-elect” and “Vice President-elect” as used in
this section shall mean such persons as are the apparent successful
candidates for the offices of President and Vice President,

Presidency; Threats Against Former Presidents; and Certain Other Secret
Service Protectees
The Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division has
supervisory authority over 18 U.S.C. §§ 871 and 879 cases. As great
caution must be taken in matters relating to the security of the persons
protected by 18 U.S.C. § 871, United States Attorneys are encouraged to
consult with the Counterterrorism Section (CTS) of the National Security
Division when they have doubts on the prosecutive merit of a case. For
the same reason, dismissal of complaints under 18 U.S.C. § 871, when the
defendant is in custody under the Mental Incompetency Statutes (18
U.S.C. §§ 4244, 4246), requires approval from CTS. In other cases,
United States Attorneys must consult prior to dismissing a count
involving, or entering into any sentence commitment or other case
settlement involving a § 871 charge.

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of
supervised release.

A complaint is simply a method by which a person is charged with
criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is
presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes
guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
