Hi. I just discovered this group. Like many of you, I'm looking for
items that can help me due computer work with impaired vision. Here are
some things I'm looking for:

o A "magnifying glass" for the computer. I saw an on-line tutorial
where the guy had a software gidget that would magnify the area around
the mouse. It made it much easier to see in his demo. I'm not sure if
the feature was just for that application (e.g., Power Point) or whether
it worked for all things displayed on the screen. Apple has a similar
thing, I think. I've got a <sob!> Windows system.

o A hand-held scanner that I can "wand" over books and other printed
matter, and see the text displayed on my CRT. I found a similar gadget
from FirstStreet, but for some reason it only displays on a TV set, not
a computer.

o Alternatively, a full-page scanner that displays on the screen with
adjustable magnification

o A backlit keyboard.

Hoping y'all can help. Thanks

Jack
