I often wonder if anybody is left on these newsgroups. Even so, I like the
fact that nobody needs to sign in. Some sites, such as Facebook, won't let
you post links unless you use their audio capture. I find those as hard as
the visual capture text.

I have given up. I tried to use one a while back and it was quite clear but
it refused to believe I had actually put the right words in. My guess is
that it had got itself out of sync with its text file or more worryingly,
they had never actually tested it.
These groups go back a long way before the birth of http and we all got
stuff through gopher.

I think the computer and social groups are still quite lively for blind
issues, but this one never really took off. I doubt if many know it exists.
