Greetings;

I'm a huge fan of LED lights. They draw little current, come in all sorts
of colours, are hard to destroy physically, and they don't get dangerously
hot. Do any of you partially-sighted folks use LED lights? I fing the cool
white ones a bit hard on my sight but I can still use the light bulb
replacement to illuminate the area. I like LED lights better than most
compact fluorescent bulbs. Those orange-coloured ones seem to irritate my
eye. I also find that the cool white LED flashlights don't seem as bright
as the incandescent kind with new batteries. What has your experience been
with LED lights?

Sincerely,

Not any more, but I think they are a great thing for those who use portable
magnifiers as they are so economical and the light does not go brown over
the life of the battery.

We do not have led lights for general use here much yet as prices are too
high.
There have been pleas for exemption from the new laws banning filament lamps
next year, as the compact daylight, or so called low energy lamps have hard
flicker, defuse light, and seem to result in a low contrast compared with
filament lamps.
