A state regulatory board that oversees chiropractors will continue to
hear testimony this week on whether patients should be warned about
the risk of stroke from neck manipulation.

Connecticut's state Board of Chiropractic Examiners has scheduled two
hearing days for Tuesday and Friday at the Legislative Office
Building. The board previously held public hearings on Jan. 5 and 6.

The panel is expected to eventually issue a ruling on whether
chiropractors should be required to tell patients about the risk of
stroke and the symptoms of stroke.

A group of patients injured during chiropractic treatment has lobbied
the General Assembly to pass legislation requiring chiropractors to
notify their patients about the risks of neck manipulation.
Chiropractors have argued the risks are very low and they are being
singled out. (AP)
