Ecclesiastes 8:4 KJV
The king acts with authority, and no one can challenge what he does.

Hebrew word used here is king Solomon's wisdom book is:
shilton: Authority, Dominion, Power.

But basically, this is contradicting God's Ten Commandments.

1. God is One.
2. No images or statues.
3. Do not call God's Name in vain.
4. Hallow the Sabbath.
5. Honour thy father and mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill!
7. Thou shalt not steal!
8. Thou shalt not commit adultery!
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness!
10. Thou shalt not envy or covet [want] what is neighbours.

We see in successor rulers of Judea and Biblical Israel that this absolute power led
entire nation save the residue and a handful of prophets into apostasy - most of all
by abolishing the First Commandment, and introducing Baal (idol od male fertility and
homosexual and child prostitution), Astoreth (idol of female fertility and female
Temple prostitution, and Moloch (the idol of child sacrifice and later also connected
with abortion by some scholars).

Moloch would typically select most intelligent firstborns, and "walk them through fire" to
make them worthy of the horned idol - this would include sufficient or high education
or ritual pleasures, often "fattening", approved by Proverbs 23:1-3

1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what
is before thee:2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man
given to appetite. 3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are
deceitful meat.

This later resulted in "blood banquets", associated with Saturnalia custom in which
the vicitms would suddenly feel compelled to overaeat even if normally not needing
that much food left alone without that foul spirit - at the best case, such banquets
add more weight than food was eaten physically, body becomes "swollen", such weight
difficult to lose for months. And there were rumours that it had non-transparent cost
as well.
Proverbs 23:4-5
4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?
for riches certainly make themselves wings;
they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Note however that Solomon did not give up his own riches to feed the poor.

This authoritarian inequality was taught ever since and the cult of Moloch destroyed
the idea of liberating labour, together with creating a cult of personality in all
ideologies descending from Communism (note that even NSDAP also started as a worker's
Party).

Contrary to this, we have already mentioned the rule of the law in the Medo-Persian
empire that overthrew Babylonian absolutist power - now, in the Book of prophet Daniel,
king Nabuchadnezzar had the power even over the beasts of the field and fowl of the air
(Daniel 2:37-38), despite his whimsical decisions like the one to execute all Babylonian
wise men for they could not interpret his dream (Daniel 2:12).

This absolute power included the right to kill whom he wanted and leave alive whom he
desired (Daniel 5:19).

However, his son, successor and heir Belshazzar did not show the same respect his
father had, but he gave his wives and concubines to drink from the holy priesthood's
cups "taken out" or "confiscated" (Daniel 5:3) from the Temple of Jerusalem.

Darius the Mede, who became the king overthrowing Belshazzar and Babylonians,
had been subject to his own immutable Medo-Persian law (Daniel 6:9). But out of
the of the envy towards Daniel's management, satraps persuaded Darius the Mede
to issue a godless decree to ban all prayers for a month, except to the human ruler.

Even grieved, Darius himself could not revoke the law (Daniel 6:16), but he refused
to eat or have his concubines enter his chambers.

This is an example of the rule of law, even when we see it documented and written
only through the abuse of law for evil purpose, but still the rule of the law.

Angel sent by God had to make a miracle to deliver Daniel from the lion's den
(Daniel 6:23), because Darius could not make an exception from the law out of
partiality.

Later we see Roman law also more just that the Law of Moses that permitted the
man to be executed without a trial based on the testimony of two witnesses,
without a trial - like Stephen the first martyr in Acts 7:42-43, as God relented
from Israel already at the golden calf receiving glory for the Exodus through
the division of the Red Sea, and left them to sacrifice to the Tabernacle of Moloch
and the star that is not the star of David, but the star of god Remphan (connected
with Roman Saturn or Greek Cronus, another devourer of his own children).

Stephen did not live long after saying that to Pharisees and Saducees, so he was
stoned with young man Saul as a witness keeping the guard of their garments, for
they got sweaty from the hard work. And also they needed a witness, considering
the entire procedure legal.

Roman law had better standards:

Acts 25:14-19
14 And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul's cause unto
the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix: 15 About whom,
when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed
me, desiring to have JUDGMENT against him. 16 To whom I answered, IT IS NOT
THE MANNER OF THE ROMANS TO DELIVER ANY MAN TO DIE, BEFORE THAT WHICH IS
ACCUSED HAVE THE ACCUSERS FACE TO FACE, AND HAVE LICENCE TO ANSWER FOR HIMSELF
CONCERNING THE CRIME LAID AGAINST HIM.

18 Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such
things as I supposed: 19 But had certain questions against him of their own
SUPERSTITION, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

Later mass agreement of the Romans to deliver Christians to lions and gladiators
thereof seems to have to do with emperor Nero's scapegoating the burning of Rome
on Christians.
