NAPA COUNTY, Calif. �
A man was shot dead and several people were stabbed during a large fight
at Lake Berryessa on Saturday, the Napa County Sheriff�s Office said.

The fight broke out around 5:30 p.m. at the Oak Shores Day Use area,
according to the sheriff's office.

Two of the people stabbed were initially airlifted to local hospitals.
Since then, one has been released and the other remains at the hospital.

The person who was shot, 39-year-old Fabian Sandoval Garcia, was
pronounced dead on the scene after deputies performed CPR, the sheriff's
office said.

Several other victims took themselves to hospitals.

An investigation determined that after the fight between the two groups
broke out, a man went to get a gun from his car and then shot Garcia.

The man fled in a vehicle but was detained north of the lake, the
sheriff's office said. He is the person that is still in the hospital
after being stabbed.

The sheriff's office said he will be booked into the county jail withing
the next several days.

KCRA 3's Carolina Estrada reported the police investigation Saturday night
appeared focused on the parking lot area near Knoxville Road. More than 20
officers, deputies and detectives from various agencies are at the scene.

She also saw multiple witnesses being interviewed.

The California Highway Patrol�s Golden Gate Division said it sent a
helicopter to the scene to assist with medical help.

The Oak Shores Day Use area is on the western side of the lake about an
hour and a half drive from Sacramento.

Law enforcement officials are asking any witnesses and anyone with video
of the altercation to call 707-339-7582.
