I know I could read the specifications, but does anyone know if SVG and
XML/XSL support ICC color management? I don't think these open standards
can truly compete with proprietary solutions if they don't

can you embed profiles to elements within the markup or just specify a
profile for the total markup?

Don't bother reading the XML spec, since that just defines syntax.

XSL-FO *might*, but I'd be surprised if it does.

I haven't looked at SVG enough to even hazard a guess.
