Hello again,

I'll be connecting wires to the terminal block of a motor controller.
Two connections will each have two wires as illstrated here.
http://easthope.ca/TerminalBlock.jpg

Soldering the pair of wires together will keep them aligned when
inserting. I understand that solder creeps. Is solder prohibited in
this application? OK if applied sparingly?

Should conductive paste be applied?

Thanks, ... Peter E.

I don't know about legality, but I will never solder wires that are to
be clamped. They will loosen over time.

Crimped ferrules seems to be a popular alternative.

Your link bounces a 404, so I can't see exactly what you're
talking about.

This can depend on terminal block type/integrity, wire gauge
and lead dressing. If in doubt, don't do it - use a connection
method and materials that you are comfortable with and know
will give reliable service.

Juding from the apparent size of the conductors in your picture, tinning is
definitely not recommended. If they're available in a small size, properly
crimped wire ferrules would be the most recommended method of making these
terminations.

There is too much "compression creep" with tinned wires as I've experienced in
the past.
