Unfortunately, we'll be pausing sci.astro.research newsgroup moderation
for the next 4 to 8 days: one moderator is having software problems and
the other moderator will be travelling. We expect to resume moderation
sometime between Tuesday 2024-10-15 and Saturday 2024-10-19.

In the meantime... many parts of the Earth are experiencing a geomagnetic
storm right now. If you go look at the night sky, you might see an aurora!
(Where I am on the west coast of Canada, last night the aurora was bright
enough to be visible even through a thin cloud layer.)
