A lot of the Apple products, smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft Surface are glued together. When your battery dies, hopefully you don't crack the screen when trying to replace it. Non-Apple laptops are usually easier to work on.

I did not own laptops in 15+ years. The best laptop I owned: Toshiba Satellite
Sure you can get faster or some other features... I treat my laptops like crap and I can tell you overall the one mentioned above just best overall. Lasted 4 years... In my care laptops last 6 month or less. Boat on salt water, waves, industrial corosive like steel plants etc... I recommend you get something other than a laptop but... crap happens!

Toshiba Satellite was a great laptop. I had one way back when I did a lot of traveling for business. I've dropped it while on a pay phone at an airport, sat on it by mistake, knocked it off hotel beds, etc. Always worked fine.
