I can't escape the political crap going on currently. For some reason I
started to remember my 5th to 8th grade World History. The class was a
collection of documented historical events of the "shit hits the fan".
The idea was to learn from past mistakes and stay humble. It engaged
students to find solutions and at what time in history should the
solutions have been applied. Could the solution be applied? Were the
side effects to difficult to handle?

One of the textbook example, yes there was a textbook, was the French
failed attempt at Panama Canal. To make it short and sweet:
1. The share holders were warned by various engineers that a repeat of
the Suez Canal was not possible . The Suez Canal was dug at sea level
while the Panama Canal needed locks to raise and lower boat traffic.
2. The share holders voted for a Suez Canal approach.
3. The share holders went bankrupt. They deserved it.
4. Thousand of French died. They deserved it.
5. Tens of thousand 3rd World "disposables" died. They did NOT deserve
it.

I have a feeling that the "shit is going to hit the fan soon" and not to
many are going to escape the smell and taste. Hope that I'm wrong...

I hope you are wrong too. The problem is, that is only hope. My
educated guess is that we are slowly approaching some real hard times.
The world seems to be unravelling, and everyone is busy pulling at the
threads.
