I remembered about this story after the Hostage Exchange. One of the
released hostages complained about the prison conditions.

It was a big gig with lots of contractors from all kind of trades.
During that time it was not unusual for a vendor to come with food for
lunch and pitch some product or distribution location. The food was
just above fast food quality.
One day there was a mystery pitch with restaurant quality food.
Usually some manager or some other Big Wig freeloader would sneak in but
there none this time. People were somewhat nervous joking about spooks,
alien encounters etc. A former Nam draft dodger said "We are getting
drafted for sure. Anybody saw any suspicious busses?"
Eventually an infomercial sleek pitchman came around and the mystery
was solved. "They" were looking for contractors to build prisons and
jails paying 2.5 times the going rate. Immediately the pitchman had to
start dodging food but he continued unfazed. He's been through this
type of performance before a few times, I figured. When the pitchman
got to the gas systems used to control riots with 5 levels the last one
being deadly, one contractor could not take it anymore. The contractor
got up, smashed a chair against the table, picked up a broken chair leg
and charged. The pitchman flew for his life and the presentation
paraphernalia got destroyed.
All day long the site manager was called A-hole but he denied any
knowledge. Next day things got back to normal.
