Without real experience that can't be understood by the mind, you don't
live. Chances are you are not going to like the same things I like. I
will try in vain to explain the context.

Movies:
Caravans
This is an old classic (1950's) about the nomads in Afghanistan. You
are not going to understand, if you did not hear about the perpetual
nomadic routes. The Road to Kathmandu (Hippie Trail) is explained in
Wikipedia and the original Zombie trail is the basis for the "Lonely
Planet" travel guides. Afghanistan has always been a difficult and
dangerous place to travel even in the good days, so don't get any ideas.
I have done many long nomadic routes in my life so the movie is a
reminder of those days. The script is based on a Mitchner book.
Mitchener's well researched books are some of my favorites. Hawaii and
Poland are famous books.

Dinner In America (cult movie)
This is for Iggy Pop fans and maybe Sex Pistols fans might understand
it. Punk Rock is not about music but frustration. You might try the
absurd Tropic Thunder which is a popular choice. Sex Pistols fans like
Clockworks Orange.

Books

Pappillon is by far my number one book. Both versions of the movie are
very good. A series would have been the best but it depends... 1883
series is well done.

Fall Of The Giants is also a good book. The book has some inaccuracies
and is biased towards the English point of view. Ken Follet is another
of my favorite writers. The book is a testament to inbred madness in
humans.

This posting is my 2 cents in to this forum. I can write about crap all
day long but most likely you have your own to deal with.

I may check that out. Thanks.

A poster in one of these groups (rocksolid.*) suggested a while back to
watch, "The President's Analyst". I did watch it, and you should too :)

"A psychiatrist suddenly gets assigned to be the US president's shrink.
Paranoid from the many spies tailing him in hope of kidnapping him, he
runs away, and dozens of spies, and the FBI, CIA, and various agencies
scramble to retrieve him."
