Has anyone had problems recently with fake SSD drives? They both look
the same as lots out there and there seem to be two basic designs and
there are A LOT of them still out there.

One of them actually feels like an empty box! (apparently inside is an
SD card reader with something in the slot telling it to return a message
saying HEY! I'M A 4TB SSD)

I have bought two recently on aBay and found both of them to be fake
drives that (obviously) don't work. I wasn't worried about this and got
my money back both times but I was wondering why the sudden prevalence
of these fake drives? what are the makers of them trying to achieve?
Or the sellers, who dont SEEM to know that they are fake?

Both have tried to tell me to format the drive and have then had to pay
me to return these pieces of junk to them!!

What's the end-game here? Is there some benefit in their risking bad
feedback for selling fake drives?
