This hardware - 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 - maxes out at macOS Monterey.
Is their any chance of a hardware update so it could run something more recent?
There are now too many necessary updates which won't run on Monterey.

Get a new MacBook!

I don’t know that Apple has ever offered hardware upgrades for laptops that
would do what you ask. Looooooong ago, they offered a logic board upgrade
to turn an SE into an SE/30, and may have done similar things for a few
other desktop models. These days, you can’t even upgrade the RAM . . .

You don't need newer hardware to run a later operating system, though
doing so comes with the caveat that certain features may not work as
expected due to the older hardware and end of support from Apple.

Open Core Legacy Patcher (OCLP) lets you install newer unsupported
operating system versions on older Macs.

<https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/>

The "Getting Started" link takes you to the documentation. Look up your
particular model on the "Supported Models" page and make note of what is
written in the Additional Info column to see any issues there.

I've used OCLP on Macs of several different years and models with great
success. As long as there isn't a major issue with a feature you depend
on, it will likely work fine for you as well.
