As of Christmas 2024, only 34% of Steam owners of Endless Space have
played 10 turns. There goes $29.99. I was giving it another chance to
no effect.

I'd laugh at this statistic but I have games on Steam that I purchased
and never even installed, let alone play them for 10 turns. So instead
of laughing, maybe I should just sigh instead.

There's too many "Endless" games. I have Dungeon of the Endless which
wasn't for me, though I gave it a proper go at 30 hours.

I also have Endless Legend which I've never even given a try.

Then I have Endless Sky which isn't part of the Endless(TM) franchise,
which I don't remember at all and played for 89 minutes.

Then I always get confused between Endless Space and Everspace, I don't
even own Endless Space, but loved Everspace. Everspace 2 not so much,
though I intend to give it a 2nd try when the mood strikes me. E2 just
has too much puzzles and too much rather annoying long still cartoon
drawing exposition movies*. It also feels like there's no challenge,
but maybe I just didn't get far enough along.

* know there's a name for the movies in games, but I'm getting old,
can't remember the name of it, and my google-fu is failing me. I keep
thinking quick-time events but that's when you have like a movie where
you have to push a button at the right time which I don't hate as much.

I dunno, as I remember most Monopoly games I played ended quite
definitively with a lot of screaming and board flipping ;-)

Side note: did you know Westwood Games (see thread below!) developed
one of the many Monopoly games for PC? It was the Monopoly CD-ROM
version for Windows 3.1, released in 1995.

It's actually not that bad (you know, taking into account that it's
Monopoly), finding a good balance between the dry table-top board game
and its multimedia enhancements. Too many PC translations of the game
go overboard with the latter, but the Westwood edition goldilocksed
it.

I mean, I still don't want to play it... but if I had to play any PC
version of Monopoly, I'd probably go with the Westwood version. ;-)

I never got into those board games! Video games were for me. Actually, I
loved physical Uno card game! I still have my cards from the rad 80s. I
even played Uno in IRC with https://github.com/ruby-rbot/rbot/ bot!
