It would almost have to be, wouldn't it?

Touch-screen controls are the worst. There's no feedback when you
press, your fingers block your view of the action (and over time makes
the screen smudgy, no matter how clean your fingers are), and are
incredibly imprecise.

Yeah, I hate those real time game controls. I don't mind turn based
games without timers. I can take my time. Also, I can't hold
smartphones, game controllers, etc. in mid air due to my disabilities.
:( Hence, why I love keyboards and mouses on (table/desk)s!

For what its worth, even for those of us who /can/ hold the things
mid-air, it still gets uncomfortable over long periods of time. Which
is another problem with playing on touch-screen devices; the angle of
the screen is never comfortable for touch-screens and viewing at the
same time.

Of course, there is a solution to some of these problems; you can
always get a gamepad or one of those devices you slot the phone/tablet
into that has attached controls. But if you're carrying around a
second device anyway to save you from the perils of touch-screen
gaming... why not just carry around a dedicated gaming device like a
switch or steamdeck?

Touch-screen controls have their uses... but gaming isn't one of them.

It's a great game on PC, really a "bullet heaven", it's the best of the
lot. It starts off slow, but after you get a few unlocks under your
belt speeds up and your growth in power is pretty good.

Really the only other ones I've liked are Llamatron (was also free I
think and kind of a silly knockoff of Robotron,) Void Scrappers (much
shorter space shootem up smashup with Vampire Surviors,) and Smash TV
(arcade game.)

I just noticed it's free on Android as well, which means you could play
it on Bluestacks on the PC. Looking at reviews it seems to be unstable
on Android though, which would ruin it as your progress isn't saved when
it crashes in the middle of play.

I was gonna comment on how I don't even understand the urge to play
mobile games on PC when there are so many good games native to PC
already... and then I look at my collection of emulated console games
and decided not to say anything. ;-)

I kinda of agree but I'd express it as it's limited to certain types of
games, well for me personally anyway. So for time anything you can play
for 10 - 30mins as a session. I don't find the viewing angle generally a
problem as you can make the case into a mini-stand which puts it at an
acceptable angle with the use of a handy table or even just your leg.
Next up it has to be suited to use a touch screen which cuts out a lot
of 'proper' PC games.

So I've got most of the Inkle choose your own text adventures and I'd
say they actual play better on the iPad than the PC. I also have a few
top down tactical squad games which I find are as good to play as on the
PC. I'd probably also add that I don't find public spaces good for
gaming at all (too many distractions) and what I really use them for is
time fillers.

The biggest problem I find is that the mobile scene is awash with lots
of games which aren't much more than rip-offs of existing games and the
whole game is based around how to get you to spend money, and keep
spending it, instead of what would be fun.
