I do that *voluntarily* with Mint, *separately* from downloading/
installing it.

It really is. There's no end to the 'codes of conduct' and embrace of

I'm thinking the same way, though I've settled on Debian, and I don't
like change for no reason.

I too have noticed that "Open Source" has been hijacked by SJWs. I
remember attending a Free Software event in Melbourne, over 12 years
ago. It wasn't "woke" but I do remember distinctly towards the end some
young woman saying that "Free Software" should be linked with gay
rights, social rights, that the moment should embrace these other social
issues. It didn't get much of a response but it seems people like that
have persevered and make progress.

Now insufferable "progressives" infest the moment.

You'd expect software devs to be less susceptible to such nonsense, as
ALL that matters is the quality of the code. But one distro after
another - almost all of which were founded and developed by White males
- is repeating the ridiculous lie that 'diversity makes us better!'.
