It’s a waste of time complaining about proprietary OSes, because they are
all owned by companies who do things to suit their own business model, not
necessarily to align with the needs of their customers.

Only Open Source OSes are perfectible in this regard, because they are
used by the same community that owns them and contributes to them.

Yep. But that hasn't stopped haters from barging in here and claiming
that the FOSS community is doing it all wrong.

Funny you should say that. Look at the millions who still refuse to
upgrade to Windows 11, even though Microsoft is essentially begging them
to, for free.

And there is a distribution for every user, or you can compile your own
from source.

Funny enough, I had to fail ten students of mine on their final
assignment because they decided to let AI write their essay for them and
they thought that I wouldn't notice. Nowadays, letting a student write
an essay over two periods means that they'll do nothing during the first
period, go home and let the AI write the essay for them, and then write
a final copy in which terms like "idyllic" appear.

Microsoft, Apple and Google have only themselves to blame for people
resisting the use of their cloud services and their operating systems.
Most people will go along with it, but most people don't even know why
they celebrate Memorial Day. They are blissful in their ignorance.

I just don't really get the AI thing, but then again I don't need its
assistance for anything.

I was impressed with the kind of covers Microsoft Designer came up with
for a theoretical book I was going to write. In a few seconds, I got
covers that looked better than anything even my artistic friends could
come up with. Anyone working as an illustrator is starting to feel obsolete.
