If you call inflation "the economy". But, AFAIK, the economy is doing
fine, but inflation is still a problem.

Technically correct
It all boils down to perception and nuts and bolts, personal experience.
So the person trying to feed the family, fill the car up and so forth doesn't
really give a hoot how the stock market is doing..
All they know is they get less food for more money.
So yes the term "economy" means different things to different people.
