Amazing, isn't it? Nearly everything the dummy gurgles about software
and hardware and computer usage is ignorant and/or ridiculous.

This is a Feeb classic:

"C requires brains and intelligence. C++ doesn't."

Who says stupid shit like that?

My SSD is amazing, Win10 20H2 flew on it, so did Win11 for the first
year or two, and Linux now is wonderful with it.

Larry, it would appear.

Obviously not anyone who has tried to use C++. Caveat: my C++ fu is
severely out of date. It may have gotten better when I wasn't looking.

Oh I bet that. I've seen with my own eyes problematic individuals in
sci.physics stayed exactly the same for more than two decades!

I post, and sometimes read, in COLA because a couple of my computers
began to have linus on them, and now my main computer (optiplex 7050
micro form factor) has linux on it. So to a little extent I've got
myself involved with linux.

Speaking of OptiPlex 7050, I bought this one from craigslist for about
$75 a year or two ago, and listen to this: Today, after I dropped some
forms and stuff in Social Security Office, before driving back home I
went to a couple of thrift stores to buy some computer mouse and, yes,
another computer monitor. My tomcats have ruined this one and part of
the screen now has suprmodern art over it in various colors :) It'll be
trashed tomorrow.

I got a monitor for $15, and then guess what I saw there. Among the few
modems there, one looked like a micro optiplex like mine. I picked it up
and it _was_ an Optiplex 9020 micro form factor, tagged "$12"!... the
modems there were also all $12 each, so the Bozo who priced them must've
thought this one was a modem. Hahhahhahh :-)

Of course I bought it and came home and found it in perfect working
condition with 4 core i5 cpu, 12 gigs of ram, and 300 gigs HD :)

It has Windows 10 on it but I cannot pass the admin password
requirement, so I'll just install linux over it. Haven't done it yet
cause I'm quite pooped today.

9020 is about 3 years older than 7050 (2014 and 2017 respectively), but
is still great to have linux on it. It'll be my backup linux computer. I
have two other Optiplexe towers that have linux on them but they're
flaky. Sometimes power up and sometimes don't. Haven't got to throw them
away yet.

The micro form factor optiplex does look like a modem. Hehe :)

Happy new year. I woke up after only 2 hours of sleep to get ready to go
to the damn SSA office. But the bombs and fireworks and stuff that some
neighbors are right now busy blowing up around me doesn't let me and my
cats get rest. Hopefully after midnight they stop, but that's not
guaranteed.

It is called enthusiasm in trying something neat. You don't show
enthusiasm, and perhaps might not even know what it is. I've never seen
it in you.

That's why I said you should've become a priest.

I have had "enthusiasm" for every OS I've used, but Winblows 11
failed, two years in and it's already bloatware, ridiculous.
