I don't do much video editing.

Basically I hate the video medium because if someone
has something worthwhile to say, they should just write
an article rather than post some bloated YouTube or other
video.

But people today are functionally illiterate. They
cannot write a coherent article. They can't even fucking
read and they have to have some "talking head" read for
them.

It's pathetic.

However, on occasion I do need to make simple video edits
and I will always use avidemux:

Avidemux is another fine product of FOSS.

Use it, or forever be a fucking asshole.

It is, but for all your blathering, you didn't explain
its main advantage:

It will edit compressed video without a
decompression/recompression cycle.
