I wish we had something closer to equal representation. With the Senate and
the Electoral College we are FAR from that. Even the House is pretty far from
it. I think the US would be MUCH better off if we had one adult citizen = one
vote, and each vote counted the same.

Point being the Constitution is arbitrary as well. All these numbers are
arbitrary but only 18 is enshrined in the Constitution. That doesn't stop
states from using other numbers for other purposes. 16 for driving and sexual
consent and 21 for alcohol, for example.

But to start fact-checking, here's the EIA chart on diesel prices:

Current data is week ending 10/14/24 has diesel at $3.631/gallon, which
is a "mere" 43 cents/gallon (12%) lower than your claimed price. Oops.

FYI on diesel costs, there's far more to that story, including the crude
grade mix OPEC is choosing to sell, because gas is more profitable per
barrel than diesel: the 2020 production cutbacks that Trump called for
resulted in a change of the crude oil ratios, and they curtailed diesel
centric crude grades more than gasoline to reduce their losses.

Plus diesel is overwhelmingly commercial, not private vehicles, and from
a supply-demand standpoint, they're a much more inflexible market.

Because what really matters in this goalpost shift attempt is if it is
even relevant to US consumers in their day-to-day budget. After all,
commercial transportation cost increases have already been accounted for
in other CPI metrics (e.g. groceries). So how relevant is diesel fuel
to US households? Well, the percent of privately owned diesel vehicles
is just 3.4% in the USA, which means that the price of diesel isn't even
in most (96%) household transportation budgets.

And sure, there's regional variations: a good chunk of the US fleet's
remaining POV diesels are pickups and often owned out West ... but lets
not forget that a common taxman cheat is to "occasionally" fill from
farm fuel (and/or home heating oil) to avoid paying highway road taxes.

his business campaign, a campaign foreign policy adviser, and
one of his campaign fundraisers. They all committed crimes and
Trump pardoned most of them!

51) Trump said he'd drain the swamp in Washington, D.C. but he
appointed more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls to his
administration than any administration in history.

52) Trump intervened to get his son-in-law, Jared Kushner,
Top Secret clearance after he was denied over concerns about foreign influence.

53) Trump hosted a Russian foreign minister in the Oval Office
where Trump revealed top secret intelligence.

54) Trump promised that the average American family would see
a $4,000 pay raise because of his tax cuts for the wealthy and
big corporations. Well, how did that work out? Did you get a
$4,000 raise? Of course not! Nobody did!
