never saw any warning from archlinux about it. If there is no bug and if
there is nothing to improve maybe it's the reason it's archived in

My kind of stuff. I've used the expat library for parsing XML for years.
It's shown a little more activity lately, mainly cosmetic touch-ups but it
often went years between versions. After initial fixes it worked well and
continued to work well. No surprises like when OpenSSL went to 3.x.
