'SOSDD another FUBAR for Harris.

To label the interview that happened yesterday between Bret Baier and
Kamala Harris a shit show, would be a insult to shit shows. It has been
obvious since well before Kamala Harris made her presidential bid in
2020, that she was not a mental giant. It was also obvious she was not
a very likable human being. Reports of her treatment of staff and those
she views as beneath her abound and have been in the news her entire
political career.

The veneer spackled heavily on Harris since the decision to replace
Biden has been a con, and while I can’t blame the democrat party for
trying to convince voters that this woefully inept and inadequate
individual is desirable and competent, the ruse collapsed in its
entirety yesterday. When life hands you a turd, sometimes the only
option you have is to attempt to spit shine it. That pretty much has
been the democrat party’s fate with Harris. They are stuck with her,
not because she’s the best candidate, no… not because she’s a competent
politician, no.. not because she shows great potential, no… They are
stuck with her because, well quite frankly, no one else was dumb enough
to pick up the clear lost cause of trying to salvage the 2020 election
cycle for them. So life has given them a turd, and they have done their
best to spit shine it.

It has been my belief, and nothing that has happened at all has shown me
any reason to adjust that belief to date, that the democrat party
leadership has known, since January of 2024, if not before, that this
cycle, as far as the Presidency goes, is lost to them. Now, they can’t
ever openly admit it, because well, then their entire base will be
dejected and they will face not only a loss of the White House, but a
down ballot massacre as well. So, the paraded around Dementia Joe as
their candidate, and ensured that no real primary challenge would be
allowed to be offered. Sure Joe is a senile old coot, who should be
wearing his flannel patterned slippers lounging in a barcalounger
somewhere eating a pudding cup, but that was true of the man in 2020 as
well, and they managed to fake him through this far, so prop him up
through the election, as long as the down ballot isn’t hurt by him, who
cares. We know we can’t win, so no A tier candidate is going to step
up, and if we have an open primary, those more radical folks in our
party will likely come out and create chaos and division among the base
which will just make the down ballot races that much more risky.. So,
stick with Dementia Joe. They knew they weren’t going to win the White
House, but he wasn’t so radical that him being on the ticket would
alienate folks in the down ballot races.

That all changed, not the night of the debate, or even the few days
after the debate…. That changed a few weeks later. Sure in the
immediate aftermath of the debate, even the hard core liberal press was
calling for Biden to leave, but within a few days, most of them were
beaten back into line and were changing their tune from Biden must leave
now, to Well, it wasn’t too bad, everyone has a bad night…. That shift
was going on within 48-72 hours after the debate… and the left wing
punditry was all, publicly at least, for the most part, talking up Joe

Biden again…. This went on for maybe a week or a week and a half, then
suddenly in that third week you saw the true shift, the decision to
remove him had been made, and the full court press to have him gone
pounded non stop. Why? What happened? Well simple, the down ballot
candidates polling began coming in at scale, and they all told the same
story. If they had to go out and defend Biden as competent and capable,
they would lose. At that point, Biden’s usefulness was done… losing the
White House was a known outcome, there was no path to 270 for any
democrat, and they knew it, but now that it was demonstrably true he was
a threat down ballot, he had to be gone… and so the long knives came out
and on July 21, Biden issued a statement that he was withdrawing from
the 2024 race.

So Harris, was rolled out, and not just Harris… but Harris 2.0. This
wasn’t the Harris who’s run for the White House ended before a single
primary vote was cast.. This wasn’t the Harris the most unpopular VP of
the modern era…. This wasn’t Harris the VP who has had 92% of her staff
turnover in less than a year, because of her unprofessionalism and
spiteful angry bahvior.. This wasn’t Harris the San Francisco liberal…
Oh no, this was Harris 2.0, a popular vibrant woman, who brings “Joy” to
everything and everyone she touches.

She was trotted out to controlled events, given a week of uninterrupted
spin and adoration at the DNC convention, and a non stop narrative by
paid influencers on social media to sing her praises… The propaganda
around her at this time would have had Goebbels crying with joy and
admiration. Instantly the Democratic base was enthused, the down ballot
likely will be okay now… gone was old boring and Dementia Joe, and now
we have “JOY”ous Harris. No the White House still wasn’t winnable, but
the base had been given a reason to engage and at least they could
pretend this was a race. Just keep Harris in controlled situations, and
spin that narrative though to November 5th.

The problem of course is that, this isn’t 2020, you don’t have Covid,
you can’t hide in a basement, you can’t fully control everything. Well,
you can, for a little while… however the problem was, 100 days is not a
“little while”.. this kind of strategy for a Presidential Candidate, of
projecting what you want people to believe about them, with no challenge
of need to do things other than friendly events and controlled venues
has a limited shelf life. 2020 Covid restrictions and lockdowns allowed
Dementia Joe to hide in a basement, generally only facing limited press,
and mostly controlled press releases, with little to no interaction with
the public or serious questioning. So when the only communication you
are creating are highly edited pre recorded things, its easy to keep up
the charade. 100 Days in 2024, this was going to be impossible. To
their credit, the Democrats, due to largely a friendly press, were able
to keep up this charade longer than they should have, they for the most
part were able to control everything around Harris for about 50-60 of
this 100 days… However, by then the wheels were starting to fall off,
the sugar high was over… Real world events, as they always do, started
to force Harris into situations she clearly was woefully under qualified
for, and once the sugar high enthusiasm response by the democrat base
calmed down.. the reality of the situation began to once more manifest
itself. Polling trends moved back to where they were before she was the
candidate, and the faux momentum of her honeymoon began to disappear
rapidly. The writing was on the wall, the “basement” strategy wasn’t
going to get them to November.

Now understand something, while there is no doubt the smart folks in
Democrat leadership know they can’t win the White House, they also know
that no matter what, they can never admit this. So they need to make
this at least look like its a race, at some level, otherwise replacing
Biden was all for naught. If the base believes they are going to lose,
then you will get lower turnout, and you will lose a lot of down ballot
races that you might have won had the top of the ticket been a draw.
Well the top of the ticket isn’t a draw when folks know they are
fighting a losing battle.

So, the Basement strategy was now failing, so they need to at least keep
up the appearances of a real election battle is happening. So the
powers that be decided to put Harris out there more… not fully out there
mind you.. she’s not going to go on media that will actually press her
on anything, but we need to get her out there… So you had her start
appearing on things like “Oprah” and “The View” and other friendly
softball venues. Unsurprisingly this didn’t work, even when put in
environments where she was never going to be pressed hard on anything
meaningful.. she flubbed again and again. Probably the most telling of
these softball type interviews, and most damning was when on the view
when asked what would she have done differently than Joe Biden… I mean
lets face it, she’s selling herself as a “change” candidate, even though
she was the tie breaking vote on most of the disastrous policy
implementations of the Biden/Harris administration. Her answer was
simply, she could not think of one thing she would have done differently
if she was in charge…. Her staff had have collectively face palmed when
that came out of her mouth. She did do a few more mainstream
interviews, but again always with friendly outlets.. It was clear these
had failed, her polling continued to slide, Trump’s continued to
improve… and this was the public polling.. You also started to have
democrats sound the alarm that their internal polling was showing her
losing, and losing key states.

The media blitz intended to extend her through to the election, failed.
So the decision was made that we must extend her out into more
mainstream news interviews… the 60 Minutes interview probably being the
biggest… It too failed, even with CBS openly editing her answers and
even putting her answers to one question, being presented as the answer
to another question in order to make her appear less inept… Still it
failed. Polling continued to drop for her, Trump’s momentum (which had
never actually gone away) continued to re-assert itself in the numbers.
So, what to do? They have to, HAVE TO, at least make this look like a
battle to the very very end, but the end is still close to a month
away.. what can they do? The damn is breaking, the cracks are apparent
to anyone even mildly paying attention… They can’t make it 4 more weeks
with what we have been doing. So, lets put her out there even more and
in less friendly environments. This latest bunch is where the Bret
Baier interview came in and supposedly she is trying to get an interview
on Joe Rogan’s podcast too.
Bret interviewed her for less than 30 minutes, her staff called to wrap
it up early, though you can clearly see Harris look directly at her
staff in what clearly is an attempt for help… Basically if this had been
a boxing movie, this would have been where the boxer getting their ass
handed to them has their manager throw in the towel, to stop the
beating… and true to form, just a few seconds later, Bret announces he’s
being told they need to hard stop, even though there was still time on
their 30 minute clock.
Baier’s interview in all honestly was not a particularly hard interview,
he was never belligerent to her, he did indeed press her to answer his
questions and did not let her just demagogue left wing talking points.
Often to no avail. Probably, what I feel was the most impactful
exchange, was when Baier asked Harris if the families of murder victims
killed by illegals in this country released under the Biden/Harris
administration policies deserved an apology. Harris went on to state
how the deaths were “tragic” and how she “feels” for the victims
families, and like Bill Clinton early in the week openly admitted the
policies of the current administration are WHY THESE MURDERS HAPPENED...
she did not, not one time, in her rambling political talking points
answer, not one time, ever actually offer an apology, not once.
This interview was the political equivalent of the Hindenburg crashing
and burning into the Titanic as it sank. Harris did NOTHING to help
her, or her parties cause, she was well prepared to repeat the same
talking points and even flagrant lies, she has been spewing the entire
cycle, not once offering anything substantive or authentic in her
actions or behaviors. Even when she decides to “go after” Trump, it
still comes across as a person trying to act a part, not anything
authentic to it at all. This was an absolute complete and unmitigated
disaster.
Reports are her campaign is trying their best to get her on Joe Rogan’s
podcast, I suspect the entire campaign, (even though they were the ones
reportedly trying to make this happen) may now decide to “pivot” away
from that plan…
I would expect Trump's momentum to continue to accelerate, and his
coattails to begin to carry some down ballot races over the finish line
with him. Don't be surprised if you start to see Polling for some of
the Senate races across the Rust Belt to begin to swing to the
republican's favor in the coming week or two.
We shall see.
