Lol, well, I had gotten around to remembering to install Skype under
openSUSE. And that chat feed had apparently, as you see in the
screenshot, been called "Bing" back when I still had Win11, and I
ignored it at the time, but now it's "Copilot", and I experimented
with it. I also found a third-party AI Web bot, with a Google search.
Haven't used any of it for serious research, though, just experiments.

So does DFS... Windows. Sometimes fickle, but he is entranced.

Copilot came up when I did a Win-key sequence that I had set up in Fluxbox.
Oops. Every damn motion in Win 11 brings up crap I don't want. I boot up to
Win 11 and the login screen is filled with notifications about crap I don't
care about. I tell Settings to cancel all notifications, but I still see
weather in the taskbar. On my phone (Android) I don't mind. On my Win 11
partition/workstation? GTFOH.

And actions in Win 11 are noticeably slower than in Debian. Not bad, though.
I'm liking how the Trycoo WI-6 performs in both OSes.

Still trying to figure out why I can't SSH out of the thing (on Debian)
while I can SSH in. Tried about 1/2 dozen fixes.

16 GB is a good minimum standard, these days. My 32 is 4x8, so all my
RAM slots are filled. Not very likely I'll ever increase it again.

I've burned through 16 GB on Windows but haven't haven't had a problem on
Linux. On Windows SQL Server and running an Angular app with 'ng serve'
are the two usual suspects. Windows does not degrade gracefully.

Remember that Linux far prefers data and code to reside in memory, rather
than in swap. Fill up the memory! Don't swap if you can avoid it.

After they captured Durov, my wife and I abandoned Telegram. We both
knew that they would force him to compromise the encryption and spy on
users, and that's exactly what happened. We now Skype as a result and
we're aware that it is a joke in terms of security. The desktop
application is also pathetic, but whatever, it does the job.

access your data.

And Linux knows well better than you when using swap and when not. So if
you have enough memory, you create some swap to let Linux chose when to
use swap or not.
