'Thousands of sex-change operations were performed on trans-identified
minors from 2019-2023 in the United States as several states have worked
to prohibit the life-altering procedures, a new database shows.

Do No Harm, which describes itself as a coalition of "physicians,
nurses, medical students, patients, and policymakers focused on keeping
identity politics out of medical education, research, and clinical
practice," unveiled a new database documenting the incidence of gender
transition procedures on minors with gender dysphoria Tuesday.

The advocacy group found that a total of 13,994 minors underwent some
form of "sex-change treatment" from 2019-2023, while a total of 5,747
sex-change surgeries were performed on minors and 8,579 received either
cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs during this period.

Sex-change surgeries are procedures that involve the removal of healthy
body parts that correspond to a person's biological sex or the creation
of artificial body parts that align with an individual's stated gender
identity.

Do No Harm's findings also document that all forms of so-called
"treatments" performed on minors generated at least $119,791,202 in
charges. Overall, a total of 62,882 "sex-change prescriptions" were
written for minors suffering from gender dysphoria.

In a statement reacting to the database's launch, Do No Harm Chairman
Dr. Stanley Goldfarb identified the effort as an expansion of "our
mission to expose the dangers of experimental pediatric gender medicine
and bring the practice to an end."

"This first-of-its-kind project provides patients, families, and
policymakers with a resource that reveals the pervasiveness of
irreversible sex-change treatments for minors in America," Goldfarb
said.

"While this data represents the tip of the iceberg, this is the first
step in holding the medical establishment accountable for participating
in, and often times promoting, predatory and unscientific medical
interventions for children."

The database is based on an analysis of thousands of insurance claims
from hospitals and healthcare facilities nationwide. Do No Harm also
examined websites and publicly available information on each profiled
hospital to determine the services they offer. The organization compiled
a data set using procedure codes and drug codes commonly used in
"gender-affirming care." These codes were collected from multiple
sources, including commercial insurance providers, Medicaid, Medicare
and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

"The procedure codes and NDC codes were reviewed and assigned
corresponding confidence levels to indicate the likelihood they were
directly related to a gender-related condition," the website states.
"This process was then reviewed by multiple medical professionals and
cross-referenced with patient diagnoses for gender-related conditions to
accurately determine which procedures and drugs were used for gender
medical interventions."

Chloe Cole, a detransitioner who has emerged as one of the most
outspoken critics of efforts to provide youth struggling with their
gender with life-altering gender surgeries, also weighed in on the
database in her capacity as Do No Harm senior fellow and spokesperson.

"The new project from Do No Harm proves the lies from the medical
establishment and radical politicians who argue that cases like mine are
rare," Cole, who says she experienced suicidal thoughts following a
double mastectomy she received as a minor, said.

"The stats in this database represent thousands of kids who are being
treated like Guinea pigs for unproven, and sometimes dangerous, medical
experiments," Cole continued. "I hope politicians and parents alike use
this database to see where these treatments are happening and protect
their children from being rushed into irreversible, life-altering
treatments."

The database contains a detailed breakdown by state and hospital of all
gender-change procedures that were performed on minors in the years
examined.

While several states have enacted laws banning some or all forms of
gender-transition procedures on minors, no such restrictions existed in
2019 or 2020, meaning that they have occurred in all 50 states at some
point in the last five years.

Currently, 26 states have laws prohibiting the performance of some or
all gender transition procedures on youth with gender dysphoria:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa,
Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New
Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina,
South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming.

The efforts to ban the procedures at the state level come amid concerns
about their long-term impacts.

The American College of Pediatricians lists potential side effects of
puberty blockers as "osteoporosis, mood disorders, seizures, cognitive
impairment and, when combined with cross-sex hormones, sterility."
Meanwhile, the organization has warned that cross-sex hormones can put
youth at an "increased risk of heart attacks, stroke, diabetes, blood
clots and cancers across their lifespan."

As for surgeries, the office of Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis
has shared images of the unsightly scars left behind from the mutilation
of forearm tissue in trans-identified females to create an artificial
penis as well as the removal of healthy breasts. The procedures can also
have negative effects on the mental health of youth with gender
dysphoria.

Cole, one of several detransitioners who once experienced gender
dysphoria as a child and once identified as a member of the opposite sex
but later saw her discomfort with her biological sex subside as she got
older, has filed a lawsuit against the medical professionals who
subjected her to gender transition procedures as a minor.

The filing maintained that her experience, including a double
mastectomy, left her with "deep physical and emotional wounds, severe
regrets, and distrust of the medical system."

A woman who said she was raped last year by the man charged with killing Eliza Fletcher says police in Memphis, Tennessee, did not properly investigate her case and that if they had done so, Fletcher would be alive.

In a lawsuit against the city of Memphis, Alicia Franklin said that she met Cleotha Abston on a dating app last year and that they talked for about a month before they met in person on Sept. 21, 2021, at The Lakes at Ridgeway apartments.

Franklin said in the suit that she and Abston, whom she knew as "Cleo," had planned to go to dinner but that when she arrived, he pulled a gun and forced her into a vacant apartment.

Abston, who told Franklin that he was a maintenance worker at the complex, blindfolded her with his T-shirt and threatened to kill her, according to the lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Shelby County Circuit Court.

The suit says Abston walked Franklin through the apartment and out a back door to his vehicle, where, she says, he raped her in the back seat.

Abston was charged with aggravated rape this month in the 2021 incident and pleaded not guilty.

Franklin said in the suit that she tried to stop Abston by telling him she was pregnant but that he seemed "unmoved."

She said Abston then stole money from her and made her wait in the apartment until he drove away, according to the court document.

Franklin said she immediately sought medical attention and reported the attack to Memphis police. The lawsuit says she submitted to a forensic medical examination, in which a sexual assault kit was gathered, including DNA evidence.

She took officers to the scene, the lawsuit says, but police "took no physical evidence directly from the crime scene itself." Franklin gave investigators the name "Cleo," his telephone number, a description of his vehicle and his social media accounts, including the dating app they met on, according to the lawsuit.

Days after the assault, Franklin was asked to look at a photo lineup of possible suspects. The lawsuit says that police included an older photograph of Abston in the lineup but that Franklin could not identify her attacker.

For months, Franklin was given no update about her case. According to the lawsuit, police sent the sexual assault kit to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, or TBI, but did not ask for processing to be expedited.

Police and the city declined to comment Wednesday, citing pending litigation.

The sexual assault kit remained untouched until June, according to the lawsuit. It was not determined that the DNA matched Abston’s until Sept. 5, three days after he is accused of forcing Fletcher into his SUV while she was on an early morning jog.

Abston, 38, was arrested the next day after police found the SUV in a parking lot by his residence, an affidavit says. He was arraigned on several charges, including first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Fletcher’s body was found Sept. 5 in a vacant duplex apartment. A cause and manner of death have not been released.

Franklin's lawsuit says Abston "should and could have been arrested and indicted for the aggravated rape of Alicia Franklin many months earlier, most likely in the year 2021 ... and the abduction and murder of Eliza Fletcher would not have occurred."

The TBI said it rarely knows the details of cases and relies on local law enforcement agencies to submit pertinent information. It expedites cases only at the request of local law enforcement agencies, it said in an emailed statement.

Franklin's case "was put into the queue of unknown assailant kits, as no request was made for TBI analysis to be expedited, and no suspect information or DNA standard was included in the submission," the agency said in its statement. Franklin's kit was pulled in June to be examined along with 19 other kits.

The agency said that during the investigation into Fletcher's kidnapping, Memphis police informed it of a possible link to Franklin's assault.

Franklin told NBC affiliate WMC of Memphis that she did not want to get into the "spotlight" but felt sharing her story could "help a lot of women come forward."

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

A spokesperson for Fletcher's family could not immediately be reached for comment.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in custody after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman, burning her with a blow torch and holding her hostage for three days, Memphis Police say.

Marshun Foxx, 42, was arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping for the following incident.

On Monday at approximately 5:00 p.m., Memphis Police responded to a complaint in the 3600 block of Townes Street and were met by a female victim.

She told them that last Friday, a man she knew as “Levi” drove up to her on Jackson Avenue in a grey sedan.

Another man jumped out of the passenger side of the vehicle and allegedly put a gun to her head and forced her into the vehicle.

Levi and the other man drove the victim to a barbershop on Jackson Avenue.

Levi then drove off and the other man dragged the victim by her feet into a shed in the rear of the barbershop.

The victim told officers that the man then allegedly forced her to perform oral sex before attempting to penetrate her. She said that his attempts were unsuccessful.

That’s when the victim said he began to beat her with his fists and burned her with a blow torch on her back.

After being held against her will for three days, the man finally let the victim go.

As officers were taking the victim to Rape Crisis, she saw the man that sexually assaulted her and pointed him out to officers.

The man was taken into custody and later identified as Marshun Foxx.

The victim made a single-shot identification of Foxx, confirming he was the individual responsible for assaulting her.

A man who asked not to be identified spoke with WREG about Foxx and said that he lives in the shed where he’d allegedly held the victim against her will.

The man said he learned to steer clear of Foxx.

“He done came at me one time like he was going to do something to me, so I just stopped messing with him,” he said.

He added that Foxx was known to have women in his shed.

“He had women back there more than one time though,” the man said. “I done seen them before cause I stay right up the street.”

As Memphis Police continue to investigate, the man said he hopes Foxx pays for what he’s been accused of.

“If he did wrong, he got to accept it,” he said.

Foxx is set to appear before a judge on October 9.

For months, Franklin was given no update about her case. According to the lawsuit, police sent the sexual assault kit to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, or TBI, but did not ask for processing to be expedited.

Police and the city declined to comment Wednesday, citing pending litigation.

The sexual assault kit remained untouched until June, according to the lawsuit. It was not determined that the DNA matched Abston’s until Sept. 5, three days after he is accused of forcing Fletcher into his SUV while she was on an early morning jog.

Abston, 38, was arrested the next day after police found the SUV in a parking lot by his residence, an affidavit says. He was arraigned on several charges, including first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Fletcher’s body was found Sept. 5 in a vacant duplex apartment. A cause and manner of death have not been released.

Franklin's lawsuit says Abston "should and could have been arrested and indicted for the aggravated rape of Alicia Franklin many months earlier, most likely in the year 2021 ... and the abduction and murder of Eliza Fletcher would not have occurred."

The TBI said it rarely knows the details of cases and relies on local law enforcement agencies to submit pertinent information. It expedites cases only at the request of local law enforcement agencies, it said in an emailed statement.

Franklin's case "was put into the queue of unknown assailant kits, as no request was made for TBI analysis to be expedited, and no suspect information or DNA standard was included in the submission," the agency said in its statement. Franklin's kit was pulled in June to be examined along with 19 other kits.

The agency said that during the investigation into Fletcher's kidnapping, Memphis police informed it of a possible link to Franklin's assault.

Franklin told NBC affiliate WMC of Memphis that she did not want to get into the "spotlight" but felt sharing her story could "help a lot of women come forward."

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

A spokesperson for Fletcher's family could not immediately be reached for comment.

resulted in babies being born with genetic anomalies undergoing
