More than that. world economies are not activity looking to remove the US
Dollar as the reserve currency. Once the world is no longer propping up the
Dollar.. DC politics is going to send its value right into the toilet.

The system has a natural balance for that. As the value of the dollar drops,
the cost of imports goes up but the cost of exports goes down. Iow, a dropping
dollar is good for our trade balance.

their holdings of Dollars and Russia and China are maneuvering to assume the
position to have their currencies deemed reserve currency and standard for
international trade/banking.

The Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division has

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of
supervised release.

Food prices at home rose 6.5% during Trump's term (+1.6% p.a.). During
Biden's term, food prices at home were up over 21% (+5.5% p.a.).

A good basic point. Now lets actually look at the DX.1 index that the
troll was complaining was at a 52 week low.

As quoted above: "... [is] trading at 100.47 - 100 is considered neutral
- Above 100 is considered strength - .."

But when one gets into the weeds of what the index is referring to, it
is the strength relative to an aggregate of other sovereign currencies,
and it is effectively *cumulative*: any value >100 means that the USD
is strengthening vs the rest.

What this means is that the OP troll's complaint is that the US Dollar's
rate of strengthening has slowed down.

By how much? Well, that "6%" is very misleading: it is the % change in
the rate of strengthening, not a % change of the value of the currency.

TL;DR: the USD has **NOT** lost 6% of its buying power.

The irony here is if they had 'zoomed out' to the 5 year trend on that
DX.1 index, they would have seen that the index started at ~100 at the
beginning of Trump's presidency, but by April 2017 fell below 100 and
remained down for effectively the rest of his term, with one
particularly bad period in early 2018 where it fell below 90 for nearly
four months (Jan - April 2018).

CoVid gave Trump a brief spike above 100, but by May 2020, it had
dropped below 100 again, & slid down to 90 before Biden took office.

Since Jan 2021, it's risen from 90 to 100 and has been mostly above 100
continuously since April 2022.

But yeah, lets focus instead on just the past 52 weeks, because we knew
that this index is supported by interest rates, so the FED's 50bps cut
this week would bring it down, as does also anticipation of future cuts.
