I was told a story recently of a guy who came into jail and he seemed okay.
He played cards with the other guys, laughed with the other guys, bought
snacks from the store with the other guys. Until a few days later the men
find out he was inside for rape. They instantly beat him bloody, stole all
his state food trays, raided his cell to steal his store bought snacks and
shunned him during the times he wasn't getting beaten up for being a
rapist. The officers eventually locked this guy in his cell 24/7 for about
a week .. maybe a bit more, 7-9days. The rapist spent those days pounding
on the cell door all day and night, effectively pissing off everyone even
more than he already did. He screamed for his life, begged, cried and
eventually was moved out that unit when the cops had about 15 men promising
to end the rapists life the second the door popped if he wasn't removed
immediately. They didn't want to live with scum.

Not sure what happened to this guy after he moved but I'm sure he got
similar treatment wherever he went.. or maybe he was put in protective
custody. Either way my inmate inside told me all about it during our visits
and he was disgusted this man went under the radar. He was disgusted to
have played cards with someone who raped another human. He told me everyone
in the unit felt the same
