'Tim Walz Was a COVID-19 Tyrant

The Minnesota governor actually defended the state's disastrous nursing
home policies.

Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her
running mate. Walz was a moderate Democrat when he served in the House
of Representatives but veered left during his two terms as governor. He
referred to socialism as synonymous with neighborliness, pursued an
extremely progressive governing agenda, and earned an F from the Cato
Institute on fiscal policy. Cato’s Fiscal Policy Report Card grade of F
of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is cited on WCBM’s The Andrew Lander Show

Another notable thing about Walz is that he served as governor during
the COVID-19 pandemic. It is thus possible to parse his approach to the
virus—and that record is extremely disturbing. Indeed, Walz's
coronavirus policies were extremely heavy-handed and restrictive; under
his leadership, the state endured the pandemic in a fundamentally
anti-libertarian fashion. What followed was the implementation of one of
the stupidest COVID-19 rules: Diners at restaurants had to wear masks
while walking to their table and moving about the establishment but were
allowed to go maskless as long as they were eating and drinking.

play host to the vast majority of deaths in the state. With roughly 80%
of the deaths in the state coming in long-term care settings, critics
have suggested the homes are not built to allow safe distancing. Others
have argued that placing infected patients in congregate settings may
relieve strain on resources in the short term, but holds the potential
of sending more and presumably sicker patients back into hospitals.

Regime. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a top VP contender for Kamala Harris,
says socialism is actually just "neighborliness." SNITCH LINE.

Perhaps. Socialism has a particular connection to neighborliness,
historically speaking. One particular feature of socialist societies
comes up time and again, which turns neighborliness into outright spying
on behalf of the state. Just ask the Russians and the former East
Germans, whose industrial-scale snitching for the Stasi made that
socialist police state highly effective.

And Tim Walz certainly knows that, because he put that connection into
practice during the COVID pandemic. If socialism is just neighborliness
in Walz' Minnesota, "neighborliness" got defined as snitching during the
pandemic:

Call this what it really was: a domestic surveillance system, imposed
and run by the State. Walz and his team just farmed it out to the
grassroots, and the Gladys Kravitzes among us cooperated
enthusiastically.

That makes Walz' theme yesterday at his launch in Pennsylvania more than
just ironic, writes John Hinderaker at Power Line. As Walz proclaimed
his guiding principle as "Mind your own damn business," Minnesotans
recalled when Walz set up his fascist snitch operation: One of Tim
Walz’s themes in his speech in Philadelphia today was “Mind your own
damn business.” This is beyond ironic. There is no aspect your life, or
your children’s lives, that Walz does not consider to be his business.
He advises his fellow Democrats not to shy away from socialism, which is
just being “neighborly.” Right. God preserve us from neighbors like
that.

Which brings us to the Walz Snitch Line. At the beginning of the covid
epidemic, Walz issued an executive order that prohibited any resident of
Minnesota from leaving his or her house, except as permitted by him. It
was perhaps the most overtly fascist measure in America’s history. Walz
then set up a snitch line, so that Minnesotans could phone in,
anonymously, and rat out their neighbors if they violated Walz’s “stay

The hotline generated thousands of reports – against people playing
basketball, walking their dogs, or attending church, local outlet Alpha
News reported in 2022. Walz’s administration continued to monitor the
hotline until November 2020, though it remained operational until June
2022.

One of Tim Walz’s themes in his speech in Philadelphia today was “Mind

that target spreaders of the fast-growing infectious disease, as well as

about his involvement in this policy. But Walz was a fellow
practitioner; in fact, Walz said that it was "not a mistake" to release

enough judgment as to be disqualifying for the pursuit of higher office.

Walz calls for early bar closures, reduced group gatherings to curb
COVID-19 spread. Restaurants, bars to bear brunt of state's changes with
earlier closing times. What followed was the implementation of one of
the stupidest COVID-19 rules: Diners at restaurants had to wear masks
while walking to their table and moving about the establishment but were
allowed to go maskless as long as they were eating and drinking. Later,
in November and December of 2020, Walz issued and extended orders for
restaurants, gyms, and other businesses to shut down. This included
outdoor dining service for eating establishments. Over 150 businesses
formed the Reopen Minnesota Coalition and urged the governor to relent,
but Walz was unmoved.

tan Humvee rolling slowly down a quiet street in the Whittier
neighborhood, followed by at least 25 heavily armored cops.

County. Memphis is currently declining at a rate of -0.89% annually and
its population has decreased by-3.48% since the most recent census,
