The Python Software Foundation has just suspended one of their most
prominent developers... for, I kid you not, finding a classic SNL sketch
"genuinely funny".

Not a joke. This is a real thing that is happening.

The Python Developer: Tim Peters
To put all of this in context, it's important to understand the person
who the Python Software Foundation just suspended.

Tim Peters won the "Python Distinguished Service Award" in 2017. I'll
let the Python Software Foundation tell you how much they absolutely
love Tim in their own words:

"Tim's technical contributions to Python are immense as he implemented
several modules into the standard library. Some examples include
timsort, doctest, and the timeit module. Furthermore, Tim contributed to
the Python Cookbook by writing the chapter on algorithms.

He wasn't 3-month suspended for just that:

"The user showed these repeated violations of the following behaviors
expected by the Code of Conduct:

* Overloading the discussion of the bylaws change (47 out of 177 posts
in topic at the time the moderators closed the topic), which created an
atmosphere of fear, uncertainty, and doubt, which encouraged
increasingly emotional responses from other community members. The later
result of the vote showed 81% support for the most controversial of the
bylaws changes, which demonstrates the controversy was blown out of
proportion.

* Defending “reverse racism” and “reverse sexism”, concepts not backed
by empirical evidence, which could be seen as deliberate intimidation or
creating an exclusionary environment.

* Using potentially offensive language or slurs, in one case even
calling an SNL skit from the 1970s using the same slur “genuinely
funny”, which shows a lack of empathy towards other community members.

* Making light of sensitive topics like workplace sexual harassment,
which could be interpreted as harassment or creating an unwelcoming
environment.

* Casually mentioning scenarios involving sexual abuse, which may be
inappropriate or triggering for some audiences.

* Discussing bans or removals of community members, which may be seen as
publishing private information without permission.

* Dismissing unacceptable behavior of others as a “neurodivergent”
trait, which is problematic because it creates a stereotype that
neurodivergent people are hard to interact with and need special treatment.

* Excessive discussion of controversial topics or past conflicts, which
could be seen as sustained disruption of community discussions.

* Use of potentially offensive terms, even when self-censored or alluded
to indirectly.

* Making assumptions or speculations about other community members’
motivations and/or mental health."

I'd like to see all his supposed violations. 100 to 1 most of the
complainers are sensitive Python lamers looking to be offended by any
and everything. Rather than killfile him they get their panties in a
wad and seethe.

Usenet has no "code of conduct" so that can't happen here (well, pusses
CAN complain to news servers but rarely is anything done).

Vile Usenet is dead! Long live vile Usenet!

I couldn't put the whole list of what he did because I don't want to
take away from potential subscribers to Lunduke. However, what's clear
is that the Linux community has become everything I've wanted to fight
against for so long. The mere thought of being in the same camp as these
limp-wristed faggots who get offended by everything makes me want to
vomit. I sincerely hope that some distributions loudly proclaim being
against this. Right now, they're keeping their heads down like
conservatives have been forced to do for so long because of leftist
repercussions. I want them to say it loud and repeat that they are
conservative. Anything less is cowardice to me.

Do you see Python as being primarily a “Linux” thing?

He sure worries a lot about the business of other people.

He has a video on YT about how a growing number of open-source projects
and Linux distros are purging thought criminals from having anything to
do with them, because they're all controlled by communists. This
has already been happening for years in the corporate world, leading to
a general decline in the quality of various technologies as good
engineers get replaced by welfare niggers and H-1B street-shitters. The
same future is in store for open-source, unless the talented
developers who are getting purged from across the open-source world
are able to regroup and put their own projects together. In that
case, those projects will eventually come to dominate, because stupidity
cannot compete with brilliance.

FLOSS is all about choice. There’s nothing to stop those who self-identify
as “non-Communists” from forking the code to start their own projects.
